Keane on why he turned

And just like that the SMB doesn't like him anymore and he can fuck off. Quite the turn around
I admit I wanted him. I was gutted he didn’t come but if that stuff is all true it sounds like we dodged a bullet. He sounds pretty much not arsed and that he wondered what he could charge for his presence. We needed the old Keane not this one. He does have a cushy job at sky tbf. Sit there and slag shit players off for good money.

Imagine what he'd have thought if a player he wanted came out with that when he was a Manager?
Not quite the principled bloke we thought.

Ruined some his legacy here but, despite what he says in his second book, if seems he couldn't give a shite.
Talks a good game though eh?

Gave the club an unbelievable lift when he came in first time around. Have some great memories. When we were winning it was great but in the end it was awful and he wasn’t going to turn it around. He didn’t do very well at Ipswich and obviously a reason why hasn’t managed since.

I wanted him back last week and probably got carried away like a lot of fans. The stadium would have been buzzing on Saturday with him in charge but deep down it probably would have ended in tears. His quotes don’t suggest he’s a man desperate to get back into management. Not sure what sort of contract he wanted but apart from the fact he’s roy keane he doesn’t deserve any more of a salary than Alex Neil. Alex Neil may not be box office but he sounds committed and might just be what we need right now.

The bloke won't ever manage again bookmark this he's a f***ing coward and a gobshite.

He's like Gary Neville loves to be in a comfy studio criticizing everyone and everything but Neville will never ever go back in to management because he's a coward

Clearly we need less cowards like Roy Keane and more internet hard men like so fat Ester.

Liking a tweet and being serious about employing someone are two completely different things.
Plenty of people like posts on here without being in full agreement with the poster.
Anyone who thinks that KLD liking a post from Roy Keane meant that he wanted him as manager on Roy Keane's terms needs to check in to the nearest psychiatric unit.

I would imagine the money comment is because of people suggesting he’d asked for £50k a week, which is over double what some premier league managers earn.

As for “not right”, who knows. There was talk of him not being allowed the staff he wanted, not having control over transfers, could be anything really.

With regards to desire, what do people want him to do? Do a talk in and beg for a job?
Having not managed in years I'm not sure what sort of opportunity he was expecting, he'll never get a chance like this again that's for sure.

Doesn’t even say it’s money he just says the terms have to be right. Contract is more than just a salary too it could’ve been the length for all we know.

What makes you think he’s a better fit?
Few things come to my mind (I’m not massively tactical minded so this are just general points mind)

He’s more like a head coach (Keane was a manager and I feel he would have butt heads massively with a DOF.

Players are a different breed now and it was a risk thinking Keane management style would work now as opposed to Neil who is a modern type with traditional values.

Keane was out for a long time, Neil hasn’t and we’ve got generally good feedback from fans from past teams.

Neil appears to be hands on and I think the current team needs that at the moment.

Finally I wanted Keane to come but I never saw past the short term. My feelings were that he would have boosted the team but it would have gone swiftly down hill eventually.

Clearly we do. You keep sticking your tongue up his arse and laugh at his 1 liners whilst he sits in a comfy warm studio pretending he wants to manage again when in reality he doesn't.

Nee fucker wants him and we can all see why

What are my views on Roy Keane?

That article says two rounds of interviews. Barnes claiming he was only interviewed once. Barnes source is absolutely shite then.

Personally, and I know everyone else disagrees, I don’t think he does. He just disagrees with everyone, no matter what the point is. It’s all an act
He embarrassed himself when he was arguing with Carragher over Ronaldo joining Man United.

The argument only lasted 5 minutes and by the end of it he forgot what he was even saying and just made himself look like a knob. Think Dave Jones stopped it because it was getting cringeworthy.
