What's the theory like? That chimney looks well used to me.
One of the things that has happened historically when teams have left embassies is that they burn confidential documents that they can’t take with them.

Presumably the heaviness of the smoke suggests inefficient burning, like paper and flame, rather than an efficient system, like maintained heating.

Doesn’t mean anything in and of itself but would be one of the sort of things that would be looked out for.

It's seems another reach to make this more dramatic than it is.

Shelling from rebel territory 'looks like provocation', says Ukrainian government source

A senior Ukrainian government source has said shelling from rebel territory in the east of the country is “not typical” and “looks like a provocation”, Reuters reports.
Earlier on Thursday the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe, which has been monitoring the Donbas conflict for years, reported in eastern Ukraine.
Ukrainian officials have released , while the Kremlin has accused Ukraine of firing first

But...but..r@mside said he had seen no Russian mocking the west.

Lavrov is an honourable man I'll have you know with no irony or hypocrisy in his words:

Here's a bit more from Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who has been speaking in Moscow, responding to a statement from Nato announcing it's deploying additional forces.

He says by deploying troops, Nato is "doing exactly the same thing that it accuses us of doing", describing the alliance as having crossed the line.

Lavrov continues: "But of course the spiciest part of the statement is the very beginning: 'We are gravely concerned by the very large scale, unprovoked and unjustified Russian military build-up in and around Ukraine and in Belarus.'

"What do you think about that? You know, this sense of personal superiority and personal infallibility has in my opinion already crossed the line, and unfortunately, our Nato colleagues simply cannot see this line."
So Russia can do what it wants on a massive scale but if NATO even responds on a smaller scale, then it is NATO that crossed the red line. He's a joker all right. :D

Nato troops on the ground in Ukraine, no-fly zones, comparing it to the Balkan war and how we stepped in to that conflict. Sounds as if he'd be very pleased if things escalated further.

I don't know what the right or wrong thing to do is in this dispute, but if you stick to the principle of doing the exact opposite of what Tobias Ellwood wants then you'll generally make the right decision.

Both Boris and Biden reckon Russia instigated the attack in Ukraine...

It's gonna be a slow build-up but once the Ukrainians start fighting back and Putin fabricates what actually happened it'll give himself the green light
There called false flag operations, the soviets & nazi's used them to justify invasions in WW2. Some might agrue the US used them to invade IRAQ
