Big Mike after Derby again

I can't see the ball busting yank lawyer that owns Wycombe being anywhere near as easily placated as Gibson. A donation to charity won't cut it, £10M might.
A commercial litigator with over 40 years experience of fighting and winning cases in courtrooms all across the USA, not going to be a pushover.

I think you're right about the Wycombe bloke and I'm not sure the problems with Gibson are fully over yet anyway, call me a cynic but the way the statements were worded makes me think they were just rushed out to stop Boro and Derby fans kicking the shit out of each other this afto.
Truth is nobody knows what's happening and there's still going to be a lot to sort out behind closed doors.

morris made the offer to meet gibson personally.#
gibson didnt previously ask to meet morris..and his legal action was against derby county fc,. not morris. Morris was not being sued by gibson..derby were...morris took the hit personally in order to same the club
Morris had nigh on two years to meet Gibson but ignored him. Finally Morris was backed into a corner and had no choice and finally crawled out from under his rock at the last minute.

Gibson has achieved his aims and the payment by Morris is vindication for Gibson that he was right.

If Gibson wanted to put Derby out of business he would have took them to court, but that was never on his agenda as he publicly stated several times.
I think you should get over your spat with Derby now as everyone else seems to have done, move on and concentrate on your promotion push.
No problem with that steadybreeze. 👍

Bottom line for Derby is they will have a club, the only issue is in what division.

why would morris have been backed into a corner? gibson wasnt suing him-he was suing derby, mel morris doesnt own derby or have any liability for its debts?
I doubt Keane would want to work under him. He gave Pardew and his coaches 8 year contracts . That is mental!

He paid 40 million quid on a player
yes but do did lots of other owners.

They'd be lucky to have him given their current predicament.

I think he'd help to have them back at the upper end of the Championship within a relatively quick period.

He actually does, when some arrangement was made last year Mell Morris made himself the guarantor for one of the loans taken out. Therefore he was backed right into the corner as there was a liability for him; it is in no one’s interest for Derby to go under they’ll survive comfortably

If the hold up for Derby Fans is Tin pot club (Wycombe) who only placed 3rd from bottom due to teams around them have to go for the winner when everyone thinks the Tin pot club is already relegated going into the final day of the season teams changes line ups and strategies based on where they are in the table. Just a disgrace Derby should pay fines to the league and points that’s the punishment but this tin pot club is going beyond its ethics of the Football League membership status.

Not the losses but he made himself a personal guarantor of a loan if it isn’t repaid, but now Derby and Middlesbrough have came to an agreement he probably won’t need to stump that up
yes but thats for a loan..thats nothing to do with the legal action..the legal action is againts the club and mmel m,orris has not gauarteed the club against the cost of a legal action..

But the new owners will take the cost of the loan on for it to be repaid, if they didn’t come to an agreement therefore there would be nobody that would touch the club because of the legal action from Middlesbrough, and therefore Mell Morris would have had to stump up, not my opinion, someone who knows his stuff/is involved in the calamity that is Derby County FC
