Newcastle - the very first fan base to use banners and create an atmosphere. Everyone else are clearly copycats.

My mate was the first person to have a huge flag in the UK. He saw the flags in Italy and wanted to do one. A relation was a seemstress and I think he paid £130 for the red and white material.

The flag was definitely used in the FA cup game against Chelsea in 1992 at home. It made it on to the pitch at the end!

We also took it to St James that season and unfurled it in the second half despite being warned not to by the coppers before the game 😂

So big flags have been around about 30 years. But obviously the mags invented them because they are git class and that 🤭

I’m sure he’s only on a wind up, but still, they have 18 points from 22 games at the moment. I wouldn’t be so smug if I were them. I think Wilko was on about the same number of points at the same stage during the 19 point season. Surely concentrate on staying in the division before bragging about becoming the biggest club in world within a decade?

This is what the mags are like when they think they’re on the up though. John Hall fed this stuff to the 92ers relentlessly when he was in charge. “Top 10 in Europe” “Barcelona sporting club” “geordie nation” blah blah blah.

A decade later they didn’t have a sporting club, Robson had been hounded out, they hadn’t won anything, fans were permanently protesting, they nearly always finished bottom half, and Shepherd was leading them towards bankruptcy.

Let’s see what Queen Amanda actually has in store for them. Will she be borrowing anymore money from Big Mike? I wouldn’t trust her at all.

You know this is the bit where I ask for evidence, don’t you?

Yep, great, looked it up. Now what? More abstract, metaphorical, hyperbole? Or are you going to tell me, specifically, where this asterisk is going? I know it exists in your imagination, because it’s comforting.

You know whats comforting for you lot? When you all just blindly defend your owners and say "its football, nothing to do with anything else"

Makes you push all the murder to the back of the mind.

Shag MBS? Jesus. Not sure he'd like that😬

The amount of mags who've crawled out from under their rocks and infest the official SAFC Twitter feed is unbelievable. There's no other fanbase in the country like them, they really are vermin.

Vermin in every fanbase unfortunately, but I wouldn't label a whole fanbase over the actions of even 50% of the others.

Remember when the official SAFC twitter did the "CANS" tweet when it was widely reported that the takeover had failed? Good craic that.

Almost the full bingo card completed in the comments.

The Saudi overlords will be giving the thumbs up to these 2 comments:

It sounds like HIV United are leading the protest.......Welcome to the Pleasure Dome with Tatchell and Johnson.
It obviously done them two the world of good.....being liberated free spirits and all that

Suhail Al Jameel isn't in prison in Saudi Arabia simply for being who he is. He IS in prison because he broke Saudi Arabian public decency laws and posted himself doing it on social media. The clown is getting exactly what he deserves.

Just found out that Staveley was once dating Prince andrew

And with the Reuben brothers being one of the tories’ biggest doners

“We’ve got our club back all we had to do was sell our souls to the devil”

And it’s nothing to do with us - those 110,000 signatures on the petition just wrote themselves

Good crack for a supposedly moral football club not falling into the hands of a horrible murderous regime? Aye

Two wins and they are back to thumping their chests and doling out taunts to SAFC without even the slightest awareness of them having precisely fuck all to say until now.
