FTEB/Yorkshire/Punishment/Fixtures

Yes. Last summer I went to Trent Bridge, Headingley The Oval and Lords numerous times

No issue with it

Good for you.

I'm amazed that people find it acceptable to have no international cricket in the whole of northern england

but each to their own.

Lets have all 7 in London then, peope from Sunderland can just get the train
There are options if you want to see international cricket but don't have access to a local ground

Its not acceptable to have no international cricket in the north of england like sorry.

Easier to get to than Leeds. Direct train

Well it's what FTECB have been doing systematically over the last half decade with ever increasing severity so it must be a good idea

i've always considered wetherby the cut off point like.
Nah everyone knows it's Elsecar. Or the Humber estuary ;)

Clearly as people seem to think its no big deal judging by the last few posts

Serious lack of objectivity in this thread mind.

If Yorkshire were financially crippled from losing the internationals, which it seems they will be, it will give so much ammo to those wanting to franchise the counties.

The more I think about this excuse about crippling finances, the more convinced I am that the ECB tried to finish Durham off.

Exactly how I feel about it. I thought similar at the time, a lot of it I felt was jealously in many ways given how successful we had been/producing England players for example, but this decision this week has increased my view they tried to finish us off. The comparisons in punishments are just off the scale.

I don't for one second want to see Yorkshire go bankrupt, but I believe it's perfectly reasonable to expect some of.... relegation/points deduction/salary cap/removal of test cricket given how severe and deep rooted this racism was within the club, more so when they tried to brush it under the carpet. As I've said the ECB have given the go-ahead for racism to continue within the game as the punishment is non existent, they had a great opportunity to set an example here and send out a warning to all clubs at all levels of the game that racism will not be tolerated.... in my view they have basically achieved the complete opposite.

If a player speaks out say for example an Asian player at another county about racism......... what exactly can the ECB do?....... quite clearly the answer is now....... "nothing" as they have set the precedent with this "punishment".

But why did they financially " bail out" Durham. Was it hoping they would still not recover and still go to the wall.
One thing I do know is Durham got little or no support from the other counties who appeared to be more interested in poaching our better players. ( Giles at Warwickshire in particular )

I don’t understand your first paragraph in the slightest, we would the ECB be jealous Durham were producing England players?

Surely the ECB would be pleased that any county were producing quality England players to enhance the England side which in turn would look good on them?

We were knocking noses out of place by winning things. The ECB clearly didn't think much of us in relation to the produced England players. It was a common statement amongst members (the jealousy thing) and for me it's a very valid opinion. They most definitely wanted to finish Durham off.

It's odd I agree.
Why not just take over the loan that Durham held with the council and allow CLS to stage test matches to help pay it off?
