I think what's happened is he's left his agent completing the deal/legalities and AN must have wanted to get straight down to business. It's the only thing that makes sense.
You don’t start working without signing a contract first. Contract signed = club can announce.

Wrong. Not for the first time. People should care if your club is run by terrorists.

Correct about fans being fickle in nature though. I will forget about being angry about keane if Neil does well. Hold nothing against him and wish him the best of luck, obviously.

Will hold Speakman and KLD to account further down the line. They have displayed worrying behaviour.
Like I say fickle

Look man football fans are fickle as fuck it's all about winning. Nee one cares if your club is run by morons or by terrorists just look at the mags.

2 or 3'wins in a row and speakman will be a god and KLD the best owner ever that's what football fans are like
Dear me. You have no concept of what has gone on in the last two weeks. Amateurish. Farcical. Embarrassing.
Take your pick. Ambitious non league outfits are run with more professionalism. It’s just unacceptable, even to the drab, low key way Alex Neil has been announced as our new manager. Pathetic.

Good luck Alex. You have some decent players to work with but need to sort us out tactically and motivate some seemingly shell shocked players. Fans will support you but generally, as a body, we are all feeling low because of results and the lack of communication from those running what should be a fantastic football club-only last week we had the best part of 40,000 people attending a league one fixture only seven days after a 6-0 hammering in front of an incredible 5,200 away fans.

Just give us some belief and our pride back Alex please. All the best in your quest. Work hard, give us no bullshit and we will respect you.

When did he sign? Club has said details were finalised this evening, is there any evidence they weren’t, you seem to think that there wasn’t sufficient trust between the two parties for him to start work before all the i’s were dotted and the t’s crossed

Seem to remember Keane took at least 2 days to sign his SAFC contract after we all knew he’d got job

Morse?
Morse ? good detective

I'm not disagreeing with any of that my point is football fans are so fickle if we win the next few games no one will care what happened before.
I literally agreed about the fickle part. You're a bit dense?
No not at all are you ?

Club is a f***ing joke, torn between the desire to always want us to do well and the desire to want to see everyone at the top crash and burn.

I reckon the no conference was Neil's idea. More important to get on with the job, taking the one session he could at the AoL, and then heading off with the team to be on the touchline tomorrow. Getting his priorities rig. Sorting the team is more important that spouting a few platitudes to journos.
Exactly mate….spending some time withthe players on a one to one basis on the way down hopefully…getting to know them …getting an idea who is up for it and who isnt….all of that will help his team selection even if its just for tomorrow

I liked his observation on training: 'Everything I saw from the players this made me really confident'. Quite a contrast, anyway, to Parky's memorably flat opening caveat: 'we have talent'.

Someone high up in the club needs to front up and have the bollocks to tell us why this has taken so long to announce.

f***ing despicable from all concerned.
They should, but they won’t mate, they’ll just hide behind ‘it was a process’, maybe not even that I wouldn’t be surprised if they just shyed away from mentioning it again.

f***ing pathetic like, whole thing has been a clusterfuck.

Just reading up on rolling contracts, sounds like it means it's a 12 month deal which automatically renews for another 12 months at the end of the initial 12 month period without need for renegotiation. So basically, if he doesn't get us promoted this season and the club decide to get rid, he'd only be due about 6 months pay off. Apologies if this has been covered, I initially thought it meant he always had 12 months left but that doesn't seem to be the case. Have a feeling they're keeping their options open in case he doesn't get us up. Sounds a bit harsh because I doubt it'll be his fault if we lose a play off, but I suppose if both parties are happy to agree to it, it might not be a bad thing for us. If Keane was offered the same it would be an obvious reason why it could fall through mind
