Alex Neil - New head coach confirmed

Well, for me, we've got a better head coach than we did two weeks ago. I don't think we'd ever go up under Johnson and now I have far more faith in Neil. For the last 2 appointments - Parkinson and Johnson - they were bottom of my list. Neil was the one I chose in the poll not Keane. I think that Keane's interest (which I presume came via Dave Jones) threw all the plans into disarray and was a totally unexpected curve ball. I think both Keane and the club were not realistic about his fit. So, no, I'm not worried like you.
I honestly don’t know how you can look at it and not think it’s a mess and they don’t know what they’re doing. Then Methven shows up to confirm peoples worst fears.

I think we are stuck down here for years to come.

Putting aside the pros and cons of AN, can anyone honestly say they think the club is in good hands after the way the last ten days has unfolded?

Worrying stuff.

It's not Alex Neil's fault that he isn't Roy Keane. Anyone with half a brain would realise that, and get behind him for the good of the club.

However you're right in that the identity of the managerial candidates is irrelevant to the main point. The main point is that the people running the club clearly haven't got a f***ing clue what they're doing. That's a massive concern and until they are replaced by people who are competent, any manager is always going to be operating with an unnecessary hindrance.

Years to come??? Should probably at least get through tomorrow first…

I just don't see it like that all. I think getting rid of Johnson was correct and a new appointment would have been made relatively quickly if Keane hadn't shown interest. The correct approach would have to quietly say to keane 'I don't think it would work'. Imagne the response of the fans to that. As for Methven attending a match well so what? Honestly, the world is going mad about conspiracies and Methven attending a match and then stopping us getting Keane is just a pure conspiracy - believe what you want. As for us being down here for years - well, for me, we were never going up with Johnson so appointing Neil makes that less likely because he is more likely to take us up. For me, getting the right manager/head coach is absolutely the key and I think we've done that with Neil.

Based on the fact we have been in this division failing to get out of it for four years and the same morons are in charge I have very little hope of us going up any time soon.

The last ten days sums the club up completely.

Take out what you perceive to be the shit in the middle we've got rid of a Head Coach who would never get us promoted and replaced him with one who seems far more capable of doing that. Surely, even you can see that's a positive. And even if you don't want to give any credit to Speakman or KLD for that.

I 100% agree with you, the club has been ran like shit for years and I would never be classified as a happy clapper. But…I’m gonna give Neil a couple games, he’s got my attention with this high tempo/press philosophy and I want to see some energy on the pitch. Who knows, maybe the ownership has Forrest Gumped their way to get out of League 1…he gets at least 3 games from me!
