Roberts did more in ten mins than the German lad did all neet earlier this week, like Clarke he looks to be in the wrong division at times. Give the three of em a few games with Pritchard in the middle and the bookies will be hoying money at those who got on Stewart to be top scorer In the hope they’ll cash in.

I think you can look at this two different ways simultaneously.

This has been handled terribly, and we've lost time, goodwill and points since Johnson's sacking.

Also, Neil is a very good appointment, and exactly sort of disciplinarian we need after Johnson. We're still in touch, Wigan are likely to start dropping points due to their fixture pile up, and we've got a manager with a good playoff pedigree if it comes to that.

In fact, looking at it clinically, he's probably a better appointment that Keane. He has achieved as much as Keane on a tighter budget, and has done so much more recently. But, the way this is handled means that it's inevitable that his appointment will be greeted as bad news.

I agree Roberts made some inroads second half, but I think Dajaku was ok first half, invisible second like the whole midfield.

With the Keane saga still fresh in peoples memories the lack of any announcement just adds to the unease.

Cos they'll want to do that standard awful interview where the interviewer will ask and answer his own questions...."So, Alex congratulations on the role. Whathave you made of the club since arriving? with its top facilities and history"......"What was it that pulled you here? Was it the fans that come in their numbers and the size of the project?"

I hate f#cking hate those interviews, they feel so staged.

Spot on.
Some seem to have trouble separating Neils appt from the delay in appointing him and separating both from the “model” that the club is being run on. Keanes hat going in the ring unexpectedly is imho what’s derailed as decent a season as could be expected under a head coach with no promotion pedigree. Thankfully KS and/or KLD stepped in and have hopefully improved our chances of success this season. Delays apart.
 
The more I think about the impending appointment of Alex Neil, the more happy I am with him as manager. I'm as guilty as anyone for being swept away with the nostalgia of Roy Keane returning but that had it's own risks, while Keane might of had more potential, Neil has proven himself to be a capable manager at a much higher level than where we currently find ourselves, and cream normally rises to the top, hopefully Alex Neil drag SAFC up to The Championship with his undoubted ability at coaching/managing.

Aye but ok isn’t gonna get us automatic from the position we’re in now. We now need wins H&A not wins and draws. We need to be on the front foot and not plodding with it.

He’s a good manager, the majority of those unhappy with it are more pissed off at the fact it’s taken so long and got carried away with the Keane nostalgia (me included the last few days).

I was fully expecting McCann or Lennon so I’m pleasantly surprised.
