2 weeks to appoint a manager isn’t a long time. If they took 2 weeks in the close season, I’d applaud them for being thorough.

Doing it mid-season, is a massive problem and should see Speakman out of a job. Not having a shortlist who they could interview the day after sacking Johnson, with an appointment a couple of days later, is rank incompetency, at the very least.

No problem with them not announcing it immediately today though. They can do the photos once the players have set off for the capital. Important that the manager is organising the players. 3 points is vital.

FWIW, the more I read about Neil, the happier I am about this appointment. Having someone with play-off winning experience is vital if we manage to get in them.
 
Someone called Michael Walker has put on his Twitter that Neil is taking training this morning and the official announcement will be made while the team is in transit to London. Presumably to head off the journos and allow him to focus on the team .....
 
The best thing about this thread is that everyone is posting their own crud, paying no attention to the crud posted by their fellow crud posters. It's the future & I like it...
