Organised Protest

Don't worry the furthest a protest ever gets is being typed up on here. As popular as this message board is, it's usually totally at odds with the feelings of the wider fanbase.
Oh yes the silent majority. In reality, the noisy majority on the site sustained Johnson throughout the Summer and into the season and clapped him all the way to 2022. When presumably sitting in the crowd, they're noticed the real silent majority starting to go absolutely ape s***.

I don't care how 'Mag-esque' it is, I don't care how many sarcy comments people make, I'll just hit 'ignore' on them, I don't care how many people do a hilarious misspelling of boycott, and I don't care how many people claim that people who protest aren't 'true supporters'.

The club we love, and have spent our lives loving, has been taken over by leeches. Dishonest, incompetent chancers who have taken money out of the club, employed their mates and other assorted idiots, criticised the fans, put nothing back into the club, and delivered the four worst teams in our 143 year history. When the three original chancers were found out, they just went out, found another one, hid behind him, and pretended they sold the club - when all they had done was add another chancer to the mix.

They have taken the piss out of our loyalty, knowing that our fatal flaw is that, EVERY season since we have been in League One (apart from the season behind closed doors), we have had higher attendances than any other club has ever managed at this level. 38395 of us were there last Saturday. That's incredible. It should also be embarrassing for the owners.

The shambles of the managerial situation, and the non appointment of Roy Keane is a watershed moment. It was (rightly or naively) the last light at the end of the tunnel. It has just been switched off.

Already there are lots of individuals coming to the conclusion they have had enough. I completely understand it, and right now I feel that way myself. It will also change nothing.

The club we love will never progress until these people are gone. Supporters of clubs in far, far healthier positions than us have organised protests on various issues, and they have often worked.

It is way past time that we arranged a protest. I don't claim to know what that looks like, or how it would work. But this is now an existential crisis for the club, and it is way past time that as supporters, we fought back against it.

Haven’t read the whole thread, is anything planned/organised?

Let’s have a dose of reality in all this.
Put yourself in the position of a young multi millionaire that has had everything all his life.
He owns a football club in the 3rd tier of a foreign country (to him).
He knows that if we don’t get promoted then gates will fall.
If we do get promoted he knows gates will be good whilst we are doing well and season cards will be sold.
So what good would any pitchforks being waved around do?
If he does get pissed off, we will just become an item on his business meeting agenda.

I've just spoken to my dad who used to be a member on here and was one of the main instigators of the Murray Out protests. He's fuming about the state of the club and the appointment of Neil. I think it might tip him over the edge. LOL.

I wouldnt be surprised if he is on the phone tonight to some of the lads too see if they are up for it. Never a dull moment marra.
The Red Card protest was a long time ago, things were very different in those days.

Firstly, the OP won't be leading a protest, it's just words on a chat forum.

Secondly, anything that isn't total support for the team would hurt the supporters, not whoever the target is supposed to be.

A protest, with the club possibly in 2nd place, would make the supporters look like lovesick puppies pining for Big Dog Keane.
It’s surely not a protest against what’s on the pitch though? All this hurting the team stuff is up to the team isn’t it. 40k turned up to support them against bottom of the league and that apparently hurt them anarl.

It’s all about the boardroom & how Madrox are still about lurking in the shadows after completely ruining this football club to the point where people think where we are at now is even remotely acceptable. It’s a complete disgrace.

How? Egos were still bigger than the brains they were housed in.
You might need to expand on that.

In those days, it was not long after Celtic fans had helped create a share buy out at their club.
There was less TV money.
The club was owned by a local man, a fan himself.

Times have changed. The situation has changed.

The protest was 'organised' by a bunch of superfans who thought they spoke for the majority yet ignored any contrary opinions. The only change is they can shout louder on the internet now.

Interesting view.
For various reasons you probably won’t get any discussion on that event.
All I will say is that the showing of the red cards that day was purely voluntary, and thousands took the opportunity to show their desire “for change”.

My point is that these days such things would be ignored.
