I can and I have. No mention of you would have brought in instead of AN.

Why do you want Speakman gone too? I've asked a few people but I'm yet to get a response.

He's had two transfer windows, quite successful in his transfers. That's it.
I would have been happyish with Neil last Sunday as he is an upgrade on Johnson.

However, the shambles of the past two weeks has meant many many decent fans now thinking is supporting this club actually worth it.

Speakman has been an absolute disaster. His recruitment apart from one or two exceptions has been abysmal and he has overseen the shambles at the end of last season and the fiasco of recent weeks.

Speakmen should be sacked this evening if KLD has any sense.

Just a heads up because I’ve seen a few posts about him being on a 3 month contract til end of season. Us (Preston) are still paying his wages until his original contract was due to run out which was June 2022. So that could be a factor in the contract length.

OK with Neil if it happens. at least he has standards and expects graft from the players. i'll be really honest and although Keane would have certainly put a rocket up the teams arse it really could have gone either way. we will never know of course.

It's the dithering I can't stand

Have we had an opinion from a Preston fan yet ? I would welcome one.
why does that matter? PNE are not SAFC and the expectation at Preston is nil compared to sunderland. It'll be interesting too see for how long he can cope with the goldfish bowl up here - especially with the fan base split about him.

You can tell from social media, especially twitter that 50% of the fans - and more - dont want Neil. As soon as Sunderland dont win it'll kick off.

Norwich city and PNE arent Sunderland. the expectations here are enormous and he'll struggle to cope. He must think all of his birthdays have come at once. I'll give him 12 months or less. He will be a dead man walking if we dont get promotion this season.

:lol::lol::lol:

He must think all his birthdays have come at once? How've you come to that conclusion? We're in League One. Many of our own fans don't think we'll be in the Championship next season.

Strange arrangement? I wonder if that will be cancelled once he joins us?

I think we wadve had someone in a lot quicker if Keane hadn’t shown interest. KLD hasn’t covered himself with glory these last few days either which won’t have made Speakmans job any easier.
Id expect KLDs dads marras on our board to be advising him to keep off the like button next time around though I think he’ll have figured that out for himself.

Why do some think he’s some sort of promotion guru.

He got Norwich promoted once, 7 years ago, got relegated the very next season second bottom, sacked the following season, and has floated mid-table table with PNE - 7th, 14th, 9th and then sacked at 16th, ever since.

I just can’t get excited about this.

Its an 18month deal i think

Out of interest who did you want?

Reading that just depresses me even more

Yep if you are someone who accepts the current situation, which is the lowest point in our entire history

Any Sunderland fan that regards Norwich as a step us from us needs a good shake - they could maybe go for a pint with Donald and Salmon Pants
I'm not sure what posts you're referring to, but in this moment in time Norwich are a better prospect than Sunderland for players and managers.
Like it or not, but playing or managing in the Premier league is a bigger draw than the particular club.

Yes strange, usually the arrangement is the club will usually pay the wages if they’ve sacked them until they get another job but apparently our arrangement is we’ll still be paying him even if he gets Sunderland job.

Ah well ignore me. We’re still paying him until June 2022 either way.

Imagine thinking that Neil is a coup for Sunderland. Have our standards really sunk that low? I'm afraid that the smileys dont add to your case marra.

Be interesting to ask him the first question of - "alex how does it feel like to be managing one of England's biggest clubs and with an average attendance of 30000 in league 1"

"Dunno, never managed a club with 30000 fans never mind 30000 average". He is on hiding to nothing and is about to find out what pressure is at a football club. He will either go like the others and sink - or he might just swim - if the fawning on here over him is justified.

Whereas Johnson finished 18th, 17th, 11th and 9th and had players like Tammy Abraham.

I don’t like it and I will never accept it - the acceptance of poor standards by us is something we need to address
