Not Roy Keane

Whoever is running the Club and putting out communication, have completely made us a laughing stock.

I presume Keane has set out a list of what he wants , such as , complete control of signnings and transfer budget , coaching staff , ambition , and with no interference from the Board. Surely , IF KLD and Speakman are running the club they would have expected a list of demands like this and to advertise Keane to become the next manger before hearing his demands then they have made themselves look inept and clueless........now because of their incompetence . we now have potentially Alex Neil coming on board but straight away he is to the public a 2nd choice and will have a uphill task to convince the Sunderland fans that he is the one.

Its not Alex Neils fault, its the complete , pathetic ineptness of the owners who ever there maybe ....but thats another debate ???

And if he thinks he will be able to manage a big club now with total control he is deluded, first of all thats not how they are run, secondly nobody will offer him a job
Not saying he's not, just saying I think the "his financial demands were unreasonable" line is an easy let off for the club, and not that plausible imo. At least that you would have got this far without working out that it was impossible to meet them. Much more likely to be that he wanted more say than Speakman was willing to give up.

Something needs to be done about this, the fans can’t keep being treated like this. Training ground should be blockaded, team bus stopped from entering the ground etc. The owners should be made to feel very uncomfortable at the thought of going to games.

Nothing will be done though, the happy clappers will be fine existing in league 1.

The chairman was "liking" Ladbible social media rumours about Keane coming to Sunderland. Was clearly nowhere near a done deal by then.
Not sure how unprofessional you can get.
The more I see and the more I think about it I can't help but look at him as a lightning rod.

It's Tony making uncle Junior the Don whilst running things on the side.

The jobs he’s had in football for the last 10 years are as number 2 for Ireland, Villa and Forest, where he wouldn’t been on relatively nothing and wasn’t motivated by money. There is no way in a million years money was the problem here. No way.
What do people think is likely to happen if you talk absolute business gobbledegook in a Brent style to Roy Keane? No point starting a project doomed from the beginning.

No way he's asked for 50k, but I'd be interested to know who our biggest earner is?

I'm sure Ferguson had a clause at United where he had to be top earner. I wonder if Keane asked for similar?

Grigg and O'Brien were. McGeady renewed at a lower rate but wouldn't be surprised to see him on the biggest wedge.

Not sure about the new lads. Batths done a canny stretch in the championship so likely on a decent packet.

Defoe must be thinking wtf..
Loved his 8 minutes on a Tuesday night at Cheltenham

Even a kidnapping didn’t sort this lot out

It would be interesting to know how much he earns for TV appearances. Not in the basis of whether it's £2.5 million but to see what salary might attract him to a full time job under close scrutiny from press, peers and general public.
Souness was making more than 10k an appearance before they got permanent contracts.

This is revisionism post knockback

People clammering for justifications for a dodged bullet

Nope, I’ve been saying for months as I’ve never been totally sold on his return.

If Keane was such a top manager, why has no club taken a chance on him since Ipswich? If he was so desperate to get back into management, why hasn’t he taken one of the championship jobs he’s supposedly been offered?

Semantics

Could have been offered a few championship jobs, but equally as much they could be at Millwall, Reading and Bristol.

Shame it’s not the 2002 RK who’d of just let rip and torn Speekman or Methven a new one (would have paid good money to see old Roy vs Methven) my guess is now he’d just laugh at him and tell him to get to f**k.

Is it possible that this is dragging out yet another day because someone in a senior position is trying to come back with an offer that is acceptable to RK?

Obviously wilding more in hope than expectation but still... possible.... maybe...
