My thoughts, i'm fairly excited by him tbhIf it is Neil let’s give him a proper chance. Seems like a decent bloke and getting good reviews from Preston and Norwich fans. Sounds better than I expected. No it isn’t the Hollywood manager everyone wanted or unearthing the next Pep, but he sounds very competent and hard working and enough to progress the club in a positive direction.
If it is him I can’t wait to get right behind him on Saturday and give him a taste of how good things can be with us if he gets it right.
Honestly he sounds a bit like a 2022 updated version of Mick Mac, and I mean that as a compliment. Back to back promotions are the target, and I feel he could have it in him if backed.
He's been interviewed along with Keane, McCann, and LamouchiWheres this rumour came from about Neil. Think he woukd be a better option than muckcan
I don't think he's going to make an instant impact and we shouldn't expect anything this season.
Also see: the current Prime Minister of this country.Absolutely spot on. I’m sure some fans would be happy with Peter Kay ffs!!
Quite a few of us were talking him up last week.Wheres this rumour came from about Neil. Think he woukd be a better option than muckcan
Winning one in a row would be a startHe's going to have to make an instant impact, and a hell of an instant impact at that. Otherwise any chance he has of taking the supporters with him will have evaporated.
I think that is impossible but we'll see! He's going to have to make an instant impact, and a hell of an instant impact at that. Otherwise any chance he has of taking the supporters with him will have evaporated.
Aye, but it took him 7,982 years to get them!Twenty one thousand wins.![]()
His 2 promotions have been pretty instant. In fact he got Norwich promoted same season when they were in a similar position to us.I don't think he's going to make an instant impact and we shouldn't expect anything this season.
Afternoon Alex’s mam.Since he was appointed at Norwich and his success there I have always thought that Alex Neil would be the perfect fit for us and would manage us one day ( although admittedly not in League 1…)
Admittedly I would have prefered Keano to come back but honestly believe that Neil i think is the next best option.
I know he is not everyones cuppa but for me ive always thought him to have a bit of Fergie, Moyes and indeed Roy Keane in his makeup.
I do think he is a winner and will demand high standards…..i also think he could inject some steel back into the club ( like Keano ) which is desperately needed as we have been way too soft both on and off the pitch since big Sam left .
Did Norwich have zero defence though? His 2 promotions have been pretty instant. In fact he got Norwich promoted same season when they were in a similar position to us.
Needs sorting and announcing tonight. Get him in tomorrow and in the dugout Saturday.
This past two weeks has been a complete shitshow. They have a chance to redeem themselves by 1% by sorting this out quickly today.
PNE fan on page 27 says he plays a 4-2-3-1 with fast wingers.Another PNE fan. In the short term, 2 years max, I think he'd do a good job. At PNE, just as he did at Norwich, after a couple of years, he seemed to lose the plot. When he first came, we played on the front foot looking to win games. After a couple of seasons, things began to change. Becoming obsessed with how the opposition were lining up, over thinking things, therefore negative football.
He doesn't like wingers, more fullbacks that attack occasionally. I don't know how McGeady would fit in if AN was manager. Also, he likes to stockpile attacking midfielders. A lad called Tom Bayliss was signed from Coventry, for, by PNE standards anyway, a lot of money, he never played him. He did similar at Norwich, signing James Maddison, again from Coventry, and not playing him. He also brought Alex Pritchard to Norwich, as I say, he loves his creative midfielders.
To be fair, he did a great job in that first season but wasn't really backed with any money, after Hugill was sold. I'd say he's an improvement on little Lee but, Sunderland seems to be a managers graveyard at the minute.
Anyway, hope he does well for you, assuming he gets the job and maybe he'll put a smile on Terry's face, that bloke who does the vlogs.
Alex’s mam would have prefered Keano to get the job instead of her own son ?Afternoon Alex’s mam.
