I dont think Neil is a bad appointment really if it is him. But there's huge question marks over the process that's affectively ended our promotion hopes.
Not one person in charge at SAFC is fit for purpose, and that will include whoever gets the managers job now.

They’ve got their little club and are happy to reduce SAFC to their own lowly ambition.

Yep. It's equally important that this whole debacle has laid bare how out of their depth our "management group" is.

You have to be incredibly entitled to, as a League One club, turn your nose up at at a manager with AN's calibre.

Here's what to expect, from someone who went to almost every game we played under AN:

Attacking

- A very frigid 4-2-3-1, with fast wingers and a strong yet mobile front man. Frightening on the break when given space to run into.
- Doesn't commit too many men forward whilst attacking out of fear of getting caught on the break.
- Little to no risks taken in first phase of play, often looking to hit the centre forward very early then getting on the second balls, which his midfielders are always very good at. Then once in that area of the pitch, you'll see some nice football played.

Defending

- Very high press from the entire team, forcing the other team to make mistakes.
- He won't take any passengers in this sense. I.e In your case, I could see him preferring Lynden Gooch to someone like Geads due to the ability / willingness (and lack of in Geads' case) to defend from the front for 90 minutes.
- Purposely encourages crosses into the box, trusting his back line to defend balls into the box. Full backs tuck in very narrow.

He's a very intense character, a bit dour to be honest. Doesn't get involved with the fans or anything. Kicked off a bit towards the end with us, but can't blame him.

But what you will be getting is a young, tactically astute manager whose attention to detail is second to none. When he gets you promoted, he'll certainly get a good reception back at Deepdale because our fans know how royally he was f*cked over.

History says it would be a good appointment for about 2.5 years & then it starts to go pear shaped.

2.5 years of good stuff would get my vote right now....................but then again I thought Moyes would be a good appointment

Crazy how many Preston games he's overseen in such a short amount of time.
