Who’s defending those in charge? This has been as big a shit show as I’ve known in my 54yrs supporting the idiots. KLD and KS have undoubtedly made twats of themselves this week. That enough for you?

You said that you’d “appoint Keane”. Yet you now admit you don’t know what terms he was looking for? Suppose he wanted £50m a week wages? There you go I’ve even made it easier for you to distract any attention from your simplistic idea of how a football club is run by allowing you to point out how RK won’t be asking for £50m a week;)

”I’d appoint Keane” if only it was that easy.
I suspect if those were his demands, the talks would not have got to the point of him basically saying he was taking the job on national TV.

Much more likely the swot sabotaged it.

The amount of people convincing themselves that Alex f***ing Neil is a good appointment is really bleak.
”good appointment” only in comparison with the other publicised contenders. I’m sure we’d all prefer Pep, Klopp, Tuchal, Conte etc but the terms n conditions probably won’t suit them.

If not Roy it will be someone cheat n nasty like all the other league one managers we have had it’s a Vicious circle and league one

The same could be said for people who convinced themselves a manager with a very similar cv who hadn't managed for 11 years was.
One would certainly have had the backing of the majority of our fans.

Enjoy watching us play in front of 15k when we fail again this season.

The reason a lot of people, myself included, went all in on Keane is precisely because all the alternatives for a third tier also ran are so bleak.

We had one decent option that people were excited about and we fucked it up. I don’t k is why people need to pretend this is good.

What Id absolutely love to know is how this apparent modern, data based, scientifically minded, progressive, connected, thorough, diligent, buzzword salad cohort of footballing whizz kids have landed at what is now seemingly a binary choice of currently unemployed former championship managers, Alex Neil or Grant McCann.

Has the data machine not been serviced? We had interest from around the world according to the young owner. It seems very strange that our options, having sacked the previous manager (who was also an unemployed former championship manager) for cumulative reasons just so happen to be the two most obvious candidates in the field.

I’m starting to think that this data Revolution long term project is, in fact, a load of absolute jargonistic f***ing tosh.
Yes it’s got the chuckle brothers written all over it

Keane has been desperate to get back into management and has unfinished business here. I’m willing to guess that it falling through is down to the incompetence of our owners to find a solution rather than him having outrageous demands.
By the same logic we should be considering Johnson, Grayson, Parkinson, Ross, Coleman, Moyes…

He may be desperate to get back into management but I’m afraid by the metrics some are using here and denigrating Neil with, for example, then he’s a poor football manager. Great player. Decent pundit. And I loved that promotion season with us. But then… nothing.

I don’t want Sunderland to be the pet rehab project for a multi-millionaire TV pundit – especially one who has shown throughout his career that he bales when he doesn’t get his own way.

No, we will be the pet rehab project for some no mark lower league manager that no one cares about instead.
