Earlier this season I felt proud of our team/players for the first time in years. I don’t through that emotion away at the drop of a hat.
You felt proud briefly earlier this season.

Wow. No wonder the owners think Sunderland fans are mugs.
Get ready to be called a mag: it’s all they’ve got when you point out the obvious.
“The mags protested. I’ll protest by giving money to the people running the club into the ground. That’ll show them.”

If anyone from our “ownership group“ looked at this thread with supporters at each other’s necks I’m sure they would be very happy.

I couldn't believe that post and it was strikingly lunatic and in a sense that post sums everything up.

I don't care how 'Mag-esque' it is, I don't care how many sarcy comments people make, I'll just hit 'ignore' on them, I don't care how many people do a hilarious misspelling of boycott, and I don't care how many people claim that people who protest aren't 'true supporters'.

The club we love, and have spent our lives loving, has been taken over by leeches. Dishonest, incompetent chancers who have taken money out of the club, employed their mates and other assorted idiots, criticised the fans, put nothing back into the club, and delivered the four worst teams in our 143 year history. When the three original chancers were found out, they just went out, found another one, hid behind him, and pretended they sold the club - when all they had done was add another chancer to the mix.

They have taken the piss out of our loyalty, knowing that our fatal flaw is that, EVERY season since we have been in League One (apart from the season behind closed doors), we have had higher attendances than any other club has ever managed at this level. 38395 of us were there last Saturday. That's incredible. It should also be embarrassing for the owners.

The shambles of the managerial situation, and the non appointment of Roy Keane is a watershed moment. It was (rightly or naively) the last light at the end of the tunnel. It has just been switched off.

Already there are lots of individuals coming to the conclusion they have had enough. I completely understand it, and right now I feel that way myself. It will also change nothing.

The club we love will never progress until these people are gone. Supporters of clubs in far, far healthier positions than us have organised protests on various issues, and they have often worked.

It is way past time that we arranged a protest. I don't claim to know what that looks like, or how it would work. But this is now an existential crisis for the club, and it is way past time that as supporters, we fought back against it.
As someone who has watched this club go downhill for over ten years and regularly called out short and co for a long time, 5 years on this forum, and then joining RAWA from then on, I think we are slowly going past the point of no return unless direct action is taken, whatever form that is I am game. let's get it on!

It’s not inevitable mate. It’s possible. But not inevitable.
If the country… I mean owner is happy to spend £25 million quid on a player that will be pointless come May then it shows they don’t give a fuck. They will break the transfer record fee in the next 5 years.

I know what you me saying, that it’s not guaranteed but it’s 99% certain even blowing money is nothing to them

Stupid post

That wierd bloke with the big daft beard will jump in, buy the club with his consortium of mega billonaires and save the day. Bookmark this.

This is very true when you look at how much they’ve spent and what on. But it by no means guarantees them success.

Embarrassing to even think it let alone say it out loud, what sort of protest ? Maybe a fake coffin with one of our faces dressed as a fake priest, I’m sure that didn’t get ridiculed on here and indeed at 91 clubs around the country.
I am not shocked at all, to see you on this thread. in fact both of you and me on this thread, its like nostalgia for yesteryear.

Protests don't work. The mags did it and ended up with the wealthiest (murderous) owners in the world
Rich future with chance of trophies, because that's the fear, the money will give them, imagine if we had that chance, one major trophy in almost 50 years, its a tough one like.
Because it’s embarrassing? And Mag like.
Say that to villa fans, and Blackpool and Charlton, and all the rest of the supporters in the UK who have protested against their club, that's the great lie of it being only Newcastle fans truth is it isn't just them.

It's worth noting protests had absolutely no impact on Newcastle getting taken over. As soon as the correct corrupt parties got the correct outcome for themselves the takeover happened.

That being said we're an absolute shambles so if people want to protest then I support them.

No protests have ever directly resulted in a change of ownership other than at a time and price of the owner's choosing, Blackpool was a slight exception; the Oystons were forced to sell by the result of a legal case. It wasn't down to the fans staying away. Protests are a bit like the valve on a pressure cooker; they make a lot of noise and relieve tension. And that's about it.
