Ah well, I'll carry on doing the other stuff I've done since I decided not to renew. I'd have gone back for Keane but not the likes of McCann, Lennon etc.

I'd not hold onto what that athletic bloke says unless others start singing the same

press have largely been in the dark for the last week

Well not really, negotiations and deals fall through anytime. Whenever someone is given good information talks would have been going well until they hit a stumbling block and deal breaks down. This is why I take it all with a pinch of salt and won't believe it until it happens.
The dreaded words: 'agreed subject to contract'....

Apparently he’s been there since last Friday with the team and staff
do you actually blame him for not taking on this shower of shite
if they have no commitment how can he be expected to manage

Not a single credible ITK on this board. Any 'ITK' who has come out and said Roy Keane is returning deserves a ban, genuinely.
Or they were told he was still favourite, looked likely, was 99% agreed etc. Passed it on in good faith. And then somethings killed the deal. Shit happens.

People take this itk stuff too seriously like.

If Keane is appointed, I wonder who will be his assistant? Could Father O'Neill be persuaded, or would his ego not permit? Would the venerable man of the cloth be a good assistant in any event?

When Keane was our manager he was 35. He's now 50. Would he need an older, more experienced assistant alongside him, or a younger bloke with more up to date experience & ideas? Would Keane conform to stereotype by playing 'bad cop' or might he confound by playing 'good cop'? Or will his approach be something completely different?

I tend not to over engage in the speculation game, but this time, not least because I'm pig sick of all this clarting on, and purely in a doubtless doomed attempt to inject a little levity into the mire, I'm going at it, pell-mell....
Reid, he's at forest that's what the hold up has been
