It’s hardly the end of the world though is it? It’s a just fecking 3rd tier football team. Is your life really going to change if we don’t get promoted again this season?

I’d probably see the news again in May, roll my eyes and nothing would change in the real world. Poor people would continue to be cold and hungry. Putin would continue to threaten our luxury of peacetime. China will still invade Taiwan. Rich people will get richer. Poor people will continue to struggle. Crime will continue and 5% of the population will continue to do 95% of the voluntary work:

I am afraid that the impression that SAFC has managed to convey to the world since the sacking of LJ 's along with its last three performances is that it is still a basket case of a Club.

Outside observers who at first thought SAFC might be rather misguided in going after Keane are likely to conclude that in fact it is Roy who has dodged the bullet.

I love this football club and I’ve supported them for many decades - of course I’m bothered ffs
 
Confidence has gone and there’s no leadership. Keane came in last time on a run of 5 defeats, turned it around and won the league. He didn’t do it overnight though and it took a while to gain momentum. We don’t have that time so we have to be realistic where we are this season. I hope we get him in and begin the recovery. There are some talented Players in the squad and I think he has time to scrape into the playoffs which we know are about momentum. We must get the appointment done without any further delay.

People use football as an escape from all those things you mentioned, it is wrong for people to care when the thing they might go to for enjoyment or escapism also turns to shit? No, of course it’s not. Nobody’s reactions are more or less valid than anyone else’s.
The fact remains we’re absolutely dreadful at football.
 
What surprises me and I guess is further demonstration that Speakman hasn’t a clue what he is doing, why have they not made noises about going after managers of the teams around us, Warne at Rotherham, Richardson at Wigan and the guy at MK Dons. Even if they have no intention surely it would be a good opportunity to leak stories to the press to try and unsettle those teams at the very least. Guess this is all part of Soeakmans desire to “do the right thing” and “follow the process”…the man is well out of his depth and is not what we need to get this club going back in the right direction.
