if I was Keane I would tell the ownership group to fuck off, it would be the best thing he could do for us, the fans, as the fall out would show all the answers to the questions we have.

I think KLD's heart is in the right place, I still think CM and the noticeably absent SD are after a quick buck, I don't necessarily blame them for this, we all do. IT is just more more agregious when it is our football club. KS, sick of hearing from his middle management speak but, when it is/was going well it was a minor irritation. KS is an interesting one, as it was a gear change from CM & SD and it would be interesting how he came to the attention of KLD.

The only way we go up now is winning the play off final at Wembley, and whilst I think most managers mentioned, mccann, warnock, lennon would get us the 24 points for play offs, the only one I can see lifting the players for a successful play offs is Keane.

I could see him winning with Sunderland at Wembley. He wouldnt even consider the hoodoo, wouldnt give it a 2nd thought.

He knows how to win there, and right now, thats our only hope.
The problem is that Keane would not be playing at Wembley.

I’m not sure what gives you so much confidence in this shite Sporting Director to appoint someone like Keane
I was told it was done last weekend but the club had to do so many interviews etc and that Keane was sorting his tv commitments out and finalising his back room staff out, gone very quiet since mind but I still think he'll be announced today at some point as I haven't been told it's off.

For what it's worth....

I don't think Keane was anywhere near their first choice for the job. I think they wanted someone younger who would fit in with Speakman and KLD and be happy to work with their date led approach

They publicly flirted with the idea of Keane in order to put a few thousand on the gate, and to help them drive a hard bargain with their preferred candidate

But they completely misread the mood of the fans, who really wanted Keano, and who would be hostile to their preferred candidate, and when Keano made it know he as up for it, they were in trouble

They are no stringing it out in order that

1. If keane does sign they can pretend it was on their terms

or

2. if keane walks away they can tell fans they really tried, but Keane wouldn't play ball, and then appoint the person they wanted all along

Why is literally everything a shambles at this football club, from the club store not being open, to not having a manager to always taking forever and a day to sign a player (take Defoe for example) and why are we anyway saying the right things but never manage to deliver. Every single season now someone comes out and says that we have learnt from our mistakes and we will be ready to go come the start of a transfer window then transfer windows come and go and we are always last to do anything of note, panick buying every year. I’m just so fed up of this club it really has got me on the bottom like, it’s like watching a family member suffer in a horrible relationship and you can’t do a thing about.

I suspect you may be correct.

Board will have been paralysed all week having backed themselves into a corner.

It’s utterly shambolic to even consider but it seems true.

Shitting Christ man.

If point / scenario 2 is correct, hope Keane comes out and publicly blasts them.

I’m at a point with the club where I would be more shocked if this wasn’t the case.

Why does it seem like something along the lines of this may have happened,
'Keane was their 1st choice or at least KLD's, they've interviewed out of due diligence in case Keane said no (just like Poyet), but now the other candidates have had a great interviews or at least better/less demands than Keane and there starting to second guess themselves and thats led them to doing a 2nd round of interviews because they've seen the fan reaction to Keane and they're trying to convince themselves to do a deal with Keane because they fear the fan backlash if they dont appoint him but will use the 'couldnt meet his demands card' if they go with Mccann or Lennon'

honestly this should have been done the day after the 1st interviews completed, call back your 1st choice and then go through your list till someone says yes or interview new people if it comes to it.
none of this 2nd interview a week later with the Same candidates rubbish

Think he's more likely to shake up the ownership structure to our benefit than the team, which isn't a bad thing.
Though prefer a grenade effect, and possibly wreckless, to 'planning' and 'philosophies' cos all that matters is getting out of this division and all that tosh is probably counter productive, its certainly no more use than a Keane or short term Warnock.

Its thursday and right now the club haven't chosen their man from the 2 remaining candidates.
While Nero fiddled.....
