Surely Keane is? The likes of Neil and McCann would take the job for the £££. Keane has a cushty job in the studios and a huge reputation. He’s the one on a hiding to nothing when we win just 2 or 3 games out of the next 15.

It's all well and good saying that but you know as well as I do that everyone will still go into meltdown if we don't go up this season.

It's realistically impossible now to go up automatically and if Keane was to come in and win 10 games in a row it still wouldn't be enough.

Say he did that, made the playoff final and lost to a deflected goal, it would be "oh he failed as he didn't get promoted" on here.

It's why I think he'd be mad to take the job as he cannot really win now.

I agree with your post by the way, the remainder of this season needs to be treated as a free hit now with the expectation being placed on next season.

If he does come in, everyone needs to be on board with that and none of this nonsense about him having "lost it" or the other shite I can already see being posted on here if he doesn't come in and win his first 10 games in a row.

The only way we go up now is winning the play off final at Wembley, and whilst I think most managers mentioned, mccann, warnock, lennon would get us the 24 points for play offs, the only one I can see lifting the players for a successful play offs is Keane.

I could see him winning with Sunderland at Wembley. He wouldnt even consider the hoodoo, wouldnt give it a 2nd thought.

He knows how to win there, and right now, thats our only hope.
