It’s a farce on the clubs side not ours; no person in the right mind would take a job for 6 month and jeopardise a long term television career. Say he gets £10K a week it’ll be £200K, over the next few year if he sticks in at punditry it’ll be 10x that, it’s not about him but he’ll want a bit more security
Tbh if it's about the money then he should stay in his current job, there's probably no chance of us matching it. I wouldn't begrudge him staying where the money is but I hope we know soon either way.

jon walters had an excellent career as a professional footballer at the top leve0 and like keane..probably wasnt the most naturally talented but made up for that with work ethic.....if keane turned down the ireland job because money..that would indiacte he isnt very commited to his country..the very thing he accused others of..

Jon Walters......like Keane?!

Seriously?!

It’s actually a bit mad how quiet the press etc is. The journo’s like edwards saying it’ll be done by the weekend haven’t got a clue what’s going on. Statements like that sum it up. Might as well have said it’s going to get dark tonight. Frustration has got to be the word to sum up the supporters feelings currently

I'd place no weight to anything that gutter journalist mag arse-licking saudi defender says - if anything it just shows they are still worried at the potential just down the road from the alleged "richest clerb in the world".
Not what he said on WMS yesterday. Fake?

Jon Walters was a sub standard footballer

Imagine the supporter reaction if it ends up falling through because of penny pinching.

Especially when we're already spending f*ck knows how much on Speakman and his cadre of inexperienced youth team coaches and pseudo-corporate bullshit spinners.

club tirns over £18m..aboout £10m of that is then players wages...so there is £8m for everything else...say £3m for the academy..so thats £5m for eveything else..you want keane to get £1m of the £5m left?
“The figures included within the report cover the period from 01 August 2019 through to 31 July 2020.

During this period, which featured an eighth-place finish in a curtailed League One season, the club had a turnover of £29.2 million.”

If they get this appointment wrong, with season ticket renewals due in the next few months they are risking a huge backlash.
This of course works the other way get it right and they go up, whoever the right person is ie they need to win games
Speakman certainly put himself needlessly into the firing line with such a placid interview 30 mins before a game. Especially given it was a week after a 0-6 hammering. A home defeat to the bottom side to kill off our automatic hopes only compounded it.

Genuinely bet they wish they hadn’t delivered it now, or maybe delivered it in a different way. Very naive
He partly did it to let people know Keane wasn’t going to pop up like a jack in the box out of the centre circle at half time such was the fantasy talk

yes we did because there was para money in that figure..there isnt any of that this season..

So no, the club doesn't "turn over £1m" then. Thanks for that.

And yeah, I'd have absolutely no problem with that whatsoever. I can think of a few under-qualified jargon-spewers who could go to free up some of it, straight away.
