If it’s announced anytime after 10 last night, then they were technically correct.
Correct. He's cleverly created a window of correctness which only gets put in when another candidate is appointed. He's colloquially known as The Wizard of Whitburn (and a number of other, slightly less flattering, sobriquets).

The system we've looked best with all season doesn't contain wingers = sign more wingers
I'm not overly convinced by that mind. A little run of results clouded people's judgement. Fact is we had an easy run of games.

I don't think our shortcomings are a question of which system we employ.

I'm not sure how I feel about giving Keane full control after changing it around behind the scenes. Surely we can't keep changing it all the time, we have no stability if we give in to demands of wanting full control all the time. You want to give a manager full control of everything? Ok but you should be building on that, not chop and change when the next manager comes in.

I want Keane to come as much as anyone but not at the cost of changing the setup again, has to be some compromise there between the club and Keane. If it didn't pay off I know exactly what threads on here would be "why did we give Keane full control?" I doubt he will come without some control over things, I just hope they don't give him the full lot.

Who says he wants full control like? He's basically said the opposite in that video with Neville.

The setup is by all accounts shite though

"The setup" is getting us nowhere.

Well I hope you are right but I wouldn't feel easy giving him everything he wants.

Yes but we should be building on that, you can't keep changing it all the time does no good at all.
Building on what? The players we got rid of are now going up automatically while their replacements are sat on the bench or get regularly thumped 3-6 nil.

This argument doesn’t stack up for me.

In any organisation, the final decision has to test with somebody. In this case let’s just look at recruitment - the argument is that “you can’t give the manager control over recruitment because of he gets it wrong, and gets sacked, then you’ll have to start again with new recruitment”. But all you’re doing is taking the decisions over recruitment away from one person (the person responsible for results, with more first team football experience), and giving it to another person (the person who isn’t directly responsible for results, with no first team football experience whatsoever).

So the question becomes - what if Speakman’s recruitment is shit? Done just allow him to crack on in the interests of “continuity” and “philosophy”? In the meantime, we’ll have a string of managers none of whom ever have the squad of players they’d actually want. It’s continuity of nonsense as far as I’m concerned.

Changing all the time.. like this summer you mean?

There's plenty loans to go back and older players to move on. Going to need another job lot of players this summer.

I really haven't got a clue but it's looking more and more like we would have appointed McCann a couple of days after Lee Johnson was sacked fitting the usual argument of had success at this level and available and then Roy Keane put his name in the frame and unfortunately negotiating with a Roy Keane wouldn't be as simple as with McCann
