Do you mean his personal wealth? If so wouldn’t that make him more prudent about spending other people’s money?

Yes, he seems like he worries about his personal wealth and income quite a lot. It was one of the main themes in his book (well that’s what I picked up anyway)

I have no idea if that makes him more prudent with others money. Much his made of his profligacy when he was here last time but I don’t think was down to him. He didn’t negotiate fees or set budgets, that was down to our chief executive at the time. And Quinn didn’t help sometimes by effectively telling people we had money to spend.
 
I can’t recall that bit of his autobiography, not saying it wasn’t part of it, but he must have made a canny wedge from being a pundit since.
Probably more than being a League 1 manager.

It’s not really a bit of the book. It’s just his constant referrals to money and contracts and looking after his long term finances. It’s the only sportsman’s book I’ve read that had that type of thing referenced so regularly
