Makes you wonder if Speakman and co are even arsed about getting out of this shit league. May as well have given LJ a few more weeks. This was meant to be our run of “winable” fixtures!
Imo they are more than happy having us as the big boys in L1 massaging their egos. They just want us as self sustainable

Speakman and a number of our players will not want Keano to rock there cumfy lives.A critical time in our clubs history this, any attempt to appoint our usual type manager McCann will cause a huge amount of damage.

Everything points to the club doing their best to inform us its absolutely not agreed, yet everyone seems to think it's fully agreed and announcement imminent.

Sorry if SEB but from a good article in The Times

"He’s not arrogant, nor modest. He thought if he was somebody else scrutinising his CV he would wonder, “Why doesn’t that guy get another opportunity?” I wondered if there was a level of club beneath which he wouldn’t go? It didn’t work like that, he said. He was hoping to get another chance with a Premier League or a club close to the top of the Championship but then it wasn’t as cut and dried as that.

What did he mean? It would depend upon the club, he said. And then he brought up Sunderland. The point was that if by some freak of disastrous results, Sunderland lost their place in the Football League and he was asked to become their manager, he would seriously consider the offer. Even if they were non-League, Sunderland, he said, were a club with a fine history, a great stadium, a big and passionate following."

Realistically where is he going to go?

He's a done his time in the lower leagues - proven he can take a failing club and get it promoted.

When he couldn't or didn't want a gig, he stayed involved with football taking assistant roles to very established people.

Look at the big teams where he probably deserves a shot at managing and there's very few of them who would employ him simply because he's Roy Keane:

- Manchester City - No
- Arsenal - No
- Liverpool - Absolutely not

It would be fair to say that he should have put his hat into the ring each time the Man Utd job has come up, but maybe he doesn't want to risk that legacy.

You could argue a team like West Ham or Everton would be perfect for him in all honesty and he could probable do those jobs for a long time. Most other teams are too small for him - he just likes us.

I doubt he'd fit in with the regimes at Spurs or Chelsea.

One bottom half finish in the PL justifies someone being given a top job?

Loved him here for two seasons and would take him back after yesterday's performance, but not sure why we have to ridiculously over-rate what isn't a particularly great managerial CV.

Christ man, Speakman is so far behind that he hasn’t even replaced the U23 coach. That’s then slapped him in the face because he had to sack a head coach with no one in mind, so had the substitute U23 coach finding himself looking after the first team. If no one can say that’s a clusterfuck then I don’t know what is. I will use a well worn phrase on here, imagine if that was under Donald’s watch. I’m not having a go at KLD nor asking for Speakman to be sacked, but this is f***ing pitiful that we are towards the crux of the season and we are still acting like the Keystone Cops. Aligned with not replacing the centre half it deserves criticising and questioned by “the ownership”

It really annoyed me that Dodds was getting all the criticism, not Speakman

Peoplw ere saying sack Dodds because the substitute under 23 coach wasnt up to managing first team games

Thats Speakman's fault.

People need to look at whats in front of them.
Nixon and other journalist 'mates' are chancers.
Keane himself has given indication what is happening twice in three days.
The KLD like.
If they were to mess this up (and i very much doubt it) then there will be complete and utter anarchy.

A fair few would bow out.
