Roy Keane

I would take Grant McCann on the basics of getting Hull promoted, played decent football and know this league in no disrespect to Keane.

I f***ing hate that phrase knows the league.

All that tells me is he's doing a shit enough job to be here in the first place.

I don't want someone that knows this league, this league is f***ing shocking, I want someone that knows better than this league and aims higher.

In what sense have they been made to look like amateurs? They couldn’t have seen the 0-6 coming, sacked him the next day and although we haven’t confirmed his replacement, if they are working behind the scenes to get Keane (and given he’s got work commitments today and on Friday) it’s not like it’s dragging on.

That said I’m far from convinced by Speakman. If I were Roy Keane I’d come here with the confidence that a good job between now and May, regardless of the outcome, puts him in a strong position with KLD. ‘Him or me’ moving forward.
KLD kept Johnson and he should have been long gone from here before we reached the 6-0.

No, I think they played pretty good, attacking football on the deck. What struck me when we played them down there was they had a bit of spike and arrogance about them as if they deserved to be champions. Taken in isolation McCann did a great job last year. He's not an exciting personality but wouldn't be a bad choice. For me he's better than Johnson.
For me the problem with the likes of McCann, Neil, Lennon etc is if we appoint someone like that we’re pretty much accepting this season is a write off and we’re planning for another tilt at automatic promotion next season. If that’s the case why sack Johnson?

Our best chance of rescuing this season is to appoint (even short term) a manager capable, almost by the very force of his personality, to give the place such a boost it almost propels the club forwards.

Once we gain momentum we’ve a decent chance in the playoffs.

Keane seems to be that option

He’s under pressure to get this right, not just from us but from his superior to. That doesn’t make people Neanderthals for pointing it out.

Our recruitment has left us quite imbalanced and inexperienced and we’re now managerless and drifting in the league. He, like Johnson, has responsibility for that
Criticism, pressure, all ok. To a level. If you look at the reshaping of the club - academy etc he’s also done a lot of good. What about the people who appointed him ? What about the people he appointed ? It isn’t down to just one scapegoat. That includes the coach of course who bore the brunt.
I’ve openly criticised him for not getting his finger out over the manager. I’d also say that KLD liking posts was error without any action. But there are levels of normal this place seems to struggle with.
