Speakman

The last week has been shite with some terrible decisions. I would be surprised if we don't make the Playoffs, because this team has veered all season from looking like bottom half L1 fodder to automatic promotion contenders. We will turn a corner and win games, because that has been the pattern of the season and I don't see why that would suddenly change.

It's a harsh realisation, again, for some of our fans that we don't have the best squad in the league. You can blame Speakman for some of that, but this is year one of our new setup being in place. Everyone wanted a young squad in the summer, and that's what we've got. No more L1 plodders like Power, Wyke, Scowen etc. It was pretty clear that we were a bit short in the summer of some young players who had L1 experience. Why we've suddenly been able to find close a million now that we didn't have in the summer is a question for KLD and not Speakman tbh.

We could replace Speakman in the summer, but we definitely shouldn't abandon the new philosophy just because Roy Keane apparently won't work with anyone who doesn't fit within his very narrow criteria of football exec.

The only person he worked successfully with was Quinn, who basically just wrote all the cheques he wanted. He'll find it very difficult to get a job in a similar setup now. There's a lot of people who talk and act like Speakman running clubs across the country.
We don't look anything like a team that's going to win promotion. That is Speakman's number one objective. If he fails there's a strong possibility he will be fired by the summer.

KLD will have to make a decision, stick with these no mark losers, gobshites and their laptops and philosophies or hire a winner. Look at the clip of those three jokers running the side today, all finely tuned into the philosophy, not a bastard clue between them.

So why have keano & richards basically came out & said or their respective tv companies theyre coming to us

Keane last night richards or co commentator were losing you on the west ham game earlier

People wanted LJ out. They got what they wanted. We've moved on to the next person to blame. It's six days since LJ left. It's an important decision which people repeatedly blame the club for getting wrong but now they want the club to find and install a new manager in under a week.

That’s what I meant kind of. Although maybe that’s all a front in media and he is ok behind the scenes, who knows really.
there'll be loads of jargon and bullshit at Sky Sports, at loads of tv stations and loads of football clubs. Keane is no mug and will be used to it. It's how he deals with it that counts

Aye I’m sure, but this would be his boss and have a huge part to play in how successful he can be.

When you sack a manager you have someone to come straight in you don't wait a week before you make appointment Speakman is becoming a liability

No.
People expect the club to know who they want prior to sacking a head coach and to get that person installed within a week.

Speakman has made a huge error today, however, let's not pile in just yet. We've all been happy with the recruitment in the main and I don't think he's the hirer or firer. He's messed up, move on. No need for all this hate

Or failing that, to at least contemplate that the incoming manager might not like the idea of being left with only two fit senior centre halves.

Everything about this last week, on a “management level”, has been a complete and utter shambles.

He has a worked for loads of people, has been an assistant twice in his last two jobs.
I’m sure if he really wants to be a manager he will have to work for someone, I just don’t see it him being a good match with Speakman. Could be totally wrong I don’t know either of them.

I guess we'll see what his appetite and suitability is for it. It's true that he was fine as an assistant, but with those jobs he was working directly under ex-players who were experienced managers. If Keane wants to be a manager, he will probably have to work with a character like Speakman, whether he likes them or not.

Have we?
The two best signings were reportedly down to Johnson, Stewart and Pritchard. The rest might have some talent but have largely been pretty average.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating with recruitment. At this moment in time the pudding tastes f***ing shite.

The fact that most of us have at various stages of the season been optimistic about the recruitment, doesn’t in itself make it good recruitment. After all, we’re not the ones who are paid to make these decisions.

Maybe that’s the problem, Speakman doesn’t really have much of a pedigree at this.

Putting together the shortlist? After a week? Not what we want to hear. Hopefully a bluff?
If that is the truth. He needs to go with the most of the soft as shite players he has bought.

If its anyone but Keane now there will be a hell of a backlash and one we may never recover from if its not.
