Is it a tactic to move away from Keane? Really baffling, no need at all for it. He might just like the sound of his own voice, gives the impression of being an academic, a thinker, however the season is very close to blowing up in his face, promotion is a must and I honestly don’t think we’ve ever been further away from achieving it
I think it was basically to let people know that Keane wasn’t going to pop up at half time and that there were still things to do. We all thought he was at the game and he wasn’t. He was managing our legendary hysteria.

That interview by Speakman is self serving nonsense.

I’m not sure it serves him well to say that a week after he sacked the “head coach” - and five days after he left us with only two fit senior centre halves - he’s only now getting around to “drawing up a shortlist”.

That just looks like part of the contract game to me.
Keane said the contract has to be right- meaning the club needs to change something and he’ll sign.
Speakman says we’re going through the process of speaking to a lot of people- or in other words telling Keane he’s not the only choice.

Keanes in a hell of a bargaining position now. He'll make speakmans life a misery

Speakman: if you are reading this (and I believe you or your advisors will do) you are an absolute bellend trying to play hard ball with Keane.

Give him the job, give him at least 18 months, and give him power to sack/sell useless staff/players. Otherwise we’re fucked.

K. Thx. Bye. X

What do you expect?

We’ve just been battered 0-6 off Bolton; lost at home to bottom Doncaster, seen our automatic chances go and now have a battle for the play offs. All the while Speakman telling us not to worry but they’re starting the interview process ;)
Couldn't make it up..oh hang on its Sunderland
