*~*~* Sunderland v Doncaster match thread *~*~*

Our defence today was like that episode of the Simpsons where they go to a football match. Never seen a team make so many pointless passes around the back. Not helped by a midfield who wouldn’t show for the ball, mind.

Please bring someone in soon. I can’t watch that shit under our caretakers even one more time.

He's not the worst player at the club though, he's becoming a scapegoat as its becoming popular as he can be frustrating.

None of them kept possession well, so why pick out one?

I'm saying he showed for it, carried it and put in 3 or 4 decent crosses, that's all, but that's pretty much more than almost anyone else and yet he's the one getting shit. Doesn't sit right with me.

Could get rid of them all for me barring one or two - most of them are shit, but making out Gooch was worse than others is f***ing nonsense.
Very very strange to call it nonsense mind, he's been the worst player at the club this season by a country mile yet people still find a way to try and defend him. It's incomprehensible.

1st thing that has to happen is to get that holding midfielder in amoungst them players. Without it we just cant control the game.

We just dont have the graft in midfield without one. Will give us a platform to then buils attacks further up pitch

Really poor result and rubbish at times but not as bad as some making out.74% possession, 22 efforts on goal, perfect goal disallowed. 9 out of ten times we win. Still plenty to criticise but feels so much worse because of the positivity going in to the game.

It was absolutely horrendous. Possession means nowt when Donny were happy to sit and keep shape for much of the game being in the lead, let our defenders piss about with it and only press us high up whe we get ourselves into a tangle.

was similar to the Lincoln game that. fannying around at the back with the ball on a shocking pitch and no urgency to go forward with the ball because by the time we did try to, due to fannying around passing from side to side all the options were marked.

shocking team selection from the clowns on the touch line as well.

Ridiculous to absolve the players of any responsibility for that performance
They should share the blame, certainly. However, today was largely down to an inept dugout picking a team that are bereft of confidence and were, barring one, previously beaten 6-0, leaving our new lads on the bench. Then they compounded it by not changing it until it was too late.

It was like LJ was still pulling the strings and I hope Dodds and Proctor are sacked.

He hasn't though, in fact he played quite well at wingback and in the last month has probably put more crosses in than anyone else.

He started the season really well, then his form dropped off. Then he got injured and on his return he was dogshit. When we played 3 at the back and him as a wingback he was quite decent.

Hes frustrating and people notice the frustrating things whilst ignoring the good, so games like today when others are worse and aren't getting involved he gets grief, yet attacking wise he probably provided as much, if not more, than anyone else.

Why? They’ve been brought in to create some sort of young dynamic team, U23 players from the premier league added to a few older lads with a point to prove. It hasn’t worked. It’s disjointed, lack of experience of the league and level has killed us. Well that and a complete lack of cohesive tactics and game management. It’s an utter shambles, not of the players doing. To a man they look lost, dazed and confused and gradually devoid of all confidence. Speakman is to blame for this. He’s a man with a very bad plan.

Can't engage with you any longer after the utter tripe you've just spewed!

I'd say Dan Neil and embleton are our two worst players at the moment. Absolutely vanish in games. Neil needs sold asap while we can still get decent wedge for him.

Meanwhile Wigan have dominated the league with our cast offs that everyone here was desperate to get rid of

Robbed of a point by officials, but in reality deserved f*ck all from the game, things have got to change, KLD needed to look at how many fans paid their hard earned cash to be served that shite on a platter.

What do you mean why? Because they're the 14 who actually went out and got battered today. My point was the players share the blame not that speakman is a golden god of football
