I agree partially, but he'll want his pound of flesh in the end. I hope he gets it !
He’ll want what he’s worth. At the moment, box office or not, that’s a good league one salary befitting of any manager/coach regarded as suitable to lead us. If he gets us up he’ll feel he’s worth more. I think his character is such that even if he was desperate to come he wouldn’t accept less than he believes he’s worth on principle.

The point being it wasn't cos the owner was an arsehole. It was because he jumped before he was pushed.

Aye, am not fussed, Keane did unreal, 2 and a half year job, thats good enough for me.

Football is a unique industry and for 90% of clubs this is how it ends.

He might still want to Dee his tv work as well as being our gaffer

not all about money
Fair point
Or maybe wanting promises on transfer activity and budgets IF promoted , not necessarily about wages

Hopefully resolved by Monday as need manager in place , we must go balls out for promotion this season

It must be a difficult contract to work out for Keane. I presume he'll have to settle for league 1 salary for us to stay within the salary cap but negotiate a huge bonus for promotion, which I think is allowed ?

I am not sure money will be the issue like, its more likely to be length of contract

probs wants more than 6 months which is fair
I think he would walk anyway if he doesn't take us up but he'll want an extension tied up with the right salary package before he signs, if he gets us promotion

why would he walk away?

Which is why he'll need his future worth tied up in a complicated contract i would think

I think there obviously was an issue with Short and that almost certainly contributed to Keanes decision but he looked like a man on the edge and will certainly have taken in to account the fact he was very likely to be sacked before he walked so I’d say both are true.

If Keane does come I think the most important and fascinating thing will be who he brings to work alongside him.

I always thought he’d have lasted longer last time if he’d had a real experienced number two to bounce things off.

It could also be a real test of the club’s ambition.

If Keane does come and gets us promotion, you can bet your life his aim next season wouldn’t be to achieve stability in the championship!

If it wasn’t all agreed I think they’d have been under strict instructions to not mention it last night.
I don’t think we can instruct journalists or presenters to say nowt and Keane didn’t really say anything not already widely known.

Sbragia won 6 games between Dec- May & probably benefited from the new manager bounce as we had a decent little run insist first few games

No ones knows if he would've kept us up or not.
All league games? I can genuinely only remember the Cisse 1-0 home to hull, 4-0 v West Brom at home. I guessed there’d be a couple more but 6 surprised me. Was he in charge for hull away? 4-1 I think it was

is last assistant tony loughlin is at burnley under dyche

It’s about the dogs mate....prime seats wanted, KLD is furious apparently

Nah you are right I can understand the comments re desire from both parties wanting this but the contract one was interesting must be about something else other than money, maybe it’s length of contract, tv work
Hopefully just lawyers doing due diligence on amendments

Just looking to see what Tony Loughlan is up to these days.

Looks like he was with Burnley for a while (having also worked for Dyche at Watford).

He left Burnley in the summer to have a hip operation. Looks like he’s out of work whilst rehab from the surgery.
I hope the rehab is going well, but not too well!
