Because he was manager of the champions of League One last year? They played good, attacking football and had a lot of self belief about them. Johnson has never got a team promoted and he lacked self belief.
I don't think Johnson has ever got a team relegated either.

Who was their manager when they got relegated from the championship after they’d finished 13th the season before?

Tell you what, with everything else that's going on I'm forgetting about the actual match and that we need 3 points :D

M
Craig Hope saying Keane to be interviewed today and interviews conclude today. Keane the preferred choice but it’s a crucial interview given McCann impressed apparently.
Is that the lad who Bruce cannot stand ?

Obviously nothing to do with an interview or anything as I live in a part of the country which isn’t where Sunderland is, or where Roy Keane lives, but I’m taking it as an omen

I'd be quite surprised if the club announced that 'McCann has interviewed really badly and the chap was obviously clueless?'
It's clearly just a polite holding statement or a polite decline but either way, they were always likely to say exactly this.
Could you imagine..
"We pissed ourselves when he said he wanted the job because Sunderland was a massive club with real fans."

Because for it to be Keane, it HAS to be announced before tomorrow?
Its just my opinion and i will stick by it (before tomorrows game starts)I will give £20 the BLF if keane is appointed after 5 pm tomorrow will you do the same if keane is appointed before the game tomorrow or its its not keane after tomorrows deadline ?

Our draw with Hull at their place was the best game of the season last year. Two good attacking teams. They were great going forward. We played 3 in the middle with Leadbitter, Scowen and Winchester and it worked really well. I couldn't understand why Johnson didn't play that again. Hull were excellent that night as were we. They played really good attacking football but what came across was their passion and they had a bit of arrogance about them as if they thought they were better than us. It was only one game but they were impressive.
Suspect that Johnson's ego had a bearing on that. People were saying for weeks that 4-3-3 was the way to go instead of the 4-2-2-2 he had us playing and to the surprise of nobody we looked far better in the 1 game we had 3 in the middle.

Private number plater -I’m out

We want to get promoted. I am not saying McCann is my choice but he isn't nearly as bad as people are making out.He got Doncaster to the play offs which is good, he got Hull promoted as champions playing good attacking football. I happen to think, listening to Speakman, we have a structure around the head coach that is better than all League One clubs and better than most Championship clubs. This should make a manager perform better - it didn't so much with Johnson it could work with McCann or Alex Neil.

If you watched the Gary Neville interview with Keane the other day I think it’s fair to say Keane won’t have a private number plate !!
