Despite a certain section of fans talking the club down. We are a massive club at this level and the stress/panic inside the dressing room towards the 'Fear' of failure, is far greater than most other clubs at this level and it why we've always needed only the strongest of leaders and why we've been in the toilet bowl of history since Allardyce left.

Keane is a force of nature in the game, because he tells the ugly truth and the club is crying out for transparency and honesty. I hope he's learned from his mistakes as we all try to learn from them ourselves. At heart his job is to put 11 players out on the pitch who have no fear of coming off the pitch having not given 100%. The recruitment and coaching he needs good people around him and I think we will the win playoffs.

what source?

Just someone who is connected business wise. They are normally spot as on when McInnes turned us down I think I posted that first and the other week when the Defoe idea was floated about whilst he was still at Rangers.
If you mean source for it won't work, that obviously has no more foundation than my own opinion. Keane was a manager not a coach and what coaching he did do was questionable. The deciding factor in whether this works for me is what coaching team he brings in. He's been out the game for a while now so it will be interesting to see who he brings.
But.........
Roy Keane as manager of a League One team? It's a massive statement of intent from KLD either way.

I’m more worried bout the Tory chancers having a say

I don't know. I just think people are far more lenient towards Keane for emotional reasons rather than practical ones.
What exactly are we lenient about?

He has a track record of success at our football club. A win percentage in the second tier that dwarfs even Peter Reid's - and that was without Quinn & Phillips.

The players I remember most fondly loved him. Not a bad word to say.

He was captain of one of the best and most respected set of players ever. None of them have a bad word to say about him.

To me, if you're not getting on with Roy Keane, you're not good enough to be at my football club.

Played at the highest level.(under two of the best managers of all time)
Managed at the highest level.(gaining promotion to get there)
Been an assistant manager at international level.(as recently as 4 year ago)
Raises the profile of the club.
Will have any amount of contacts in the game.
Would give the entire city a huge lift.

What's Mccanns credentials?
"Knows League 1"
Dishevelled
Won't frighten the players
Won't be a threat to the remnants of Madrox
His contacts might give us a better chance of recruiting players from Hull & Peterborough in future

He was on Sky six months ago saying he’d “grab” Ole and ask “why are you playing Fred?”. I just don’t think it’s a good appointment.
What’s wrong with that? Fred is poor as piss. He’s was speaking to him as a mate as mates do.
He isn't....he just isn't as good as Keane was, and that is a problem. I think he is the right appointment to get us promoted this season though.
You’re saying Fred was as good as Keane ?

So tactics aren't a concern now.

You think a goal is to get or try and get promotion, but don't think keane would do that?

You don't think keane would try?

Not trying to be funny, genuinely don't get your point.
Tactics won’t get us promoted. Someone coming in for 19 games with a special magic tactic won’t get us promoted.

The fact is we have some excellent players at this club & they’ve shown it when they’ve pummelled teams. The major concern is the lack of leadership, backbone & fight when it goes to shit. It’s went to shit too many times with these good players which is why we’re lagging behind.

What we need is to turn the f***ing turbo engines on & go on a run. We can’t sign steel & determination now, but if we get the right team in off the pitch we might be able to install it.

If he’s announced today, feel it at the match tomorrow. It’ll be a very different club than that one that played Portsmouth
