It's astonishing how people have decided what his roll will be without any knowledge. Why won't he do coaching?

Doesn't stop people making all sorts of claims on the inner consensus of board meetings on managerial appointments

I have a feeling that if Keane isn’t appointed, the (I suspect highly entertaining) meltdown on here is going to be something to behold.
If Keane isn't appointed, we'll just have to move on with whoever they choose, but the SAFC board need to have a thick skin if it doesn't start well.

When Martin O'Neill was appointed, many thought we finally had the Manager the fans wanted and who could do well, and he did start well but it couldn't be sustained, and it didn't last as long as should have.

Anyone coming in will have a 4-month period of a free hit, unless they can't even make the play-offs. Keane is one option I could see who would actually get us through via the play-offs. His experiene of big games would be invaluable.

But like everything in life, you take what comes your way.
