That sky best Of montage/sales brochure they complied was enough for me, watched that and I thought why not he’s a perfect fit and what we need.

That’s from someone who at the weekend was firmly in the no camp
BHH

Yeah from what I’ve read I agree, can’t imagine he’s an easy man to please.
I don't think money (as many have suggested) will deter him, but my worry is him taking a dislike to anything about KLD or speakman or anything that is said.....

I hope not like.

With two transfer windows and a fuck load of money aye. Even with that his win rate here was 42%. His win rate at the only other club he's ever managed himself is 34%. And that was over a decade ago. He's not managed a club since.

He's not the Messiah, and that's the only reason people would ever want someone in in the same circumstances. Literally any other club doing this we'd piss ourselves.

But i hope this gets bumped and bookmarked to death and He's the best manager we ever have. Gladly be proved wrong.
You do realise he walked into a club bottom of the championship and won the league. The following season struggled to attract players as we'd amassed 34 points over 2 seasons the last time we played top flight football. Kept us up and we went on to have our longest run in the top flight in decades. He started that. Don't try and belittle the job he done here. He was an undoubted success

I keep saying this as nobody ever replies satisfactorily.

Do you not think the lift it will give the stadium and the club will be enough to carry us?

Fluked the league according to one poster on here 😂

He'll take the job because he must know that if he wants back into management in any serious way then he has to take this job. HERE. NOW.

That's how he gets other, better offers. Otherwise he hasn't to bottle to get back in.

He's signing.

Thing I don’t get is are the board wanting to change the approach already from head coach to manager? Keane is a manager, seems a bit baffling looking at how they’ve structured the club

If the ex Hull lad gets it then my personal interest will dwindle even further. Nothing against him, sure he is a good bloke and all that but it would be a sign that the owner doesn’t get the people here.

Employing Johnson was the first mistake and there is always a second chance, this is it.

Keane has said one of the main reasons he left was that he didn’t like the way Ellis Short talked down to him.

KLD won’t do that. He’s a lot younger for one thing. KLD seems to have a sense of humour that Short lacked, and he knows his football, so he’ll know what it would mean to have Keane here. Also Keane will be the elder statesman now as he’s so much older than KLD.

I think the two of them would work well together, and Keane will thrive if he’s in the right environment.
