I'm not in the Keane in camp but thats not right. He spent a lot of money yes but the majority we made our money back on (Chopra, McShane, Halford) or were mainstays in Bruce's sides (Malbranque, Jones, Ferdinand). McCartney and Gordon are the only two that really cost us financially and that was bad luck due to injuries more than anything else. In any case we generally found buyers for Keane's signing and they weren't hanging around.

The financial hamstringing came with bruce and signing bang average players like Turner for £12m, Gardner £8m or free agents on 50k a week like Vaughan or Larsson on 4 year contracts. Those lot ended up stinking the place out for years and crippled us after the introduction of FFP.
Facts are not welcome here. You should know better.

I cannot stand Roy (well the version we see of him on tv, he might be a lovely lad off it). Seems so full of hatred and bitterness I wonder how good of a leader he really is.

Keane at 4/7 is still far too generous for something that is reportedly so close to happening.

Almost seems too good to be true at that price!

Agree with most of that, but did Seb "stink the place out"?

He's coming.

Teasers on Sky are a bit like the teasers we had on SAFC about Defoe for days. Mr Jones behind these?

Gardner was free and Turner was only about 5m mind.

Edit - Gardner wasn’t free, could have sworn he was.

KLD and the rest need to get the interview process clear in their heads.

They aren't interviewing Keane.

HE IS INTERVIEWING THEM.

If they get this right, we will be flying.

Surely they've got an easy sell to him.

6 months - no massive commitment and re-evaluate.
Fans clearly bloody love him.
Fantastic squad of young talent that will idolize the bloke.

Haway Keano, easy choice.
