CloughOff the top of my head, I can only think of 4 managers in the English game with complete success.
Pep, Fergie, Busby and Shankly.
He has got to be worth another shot if only for what he achieved last time

oh rightThe post I originally replied to was accusing him of bullying the players to a promotion.
I'm very surprised that as it stands his messianic return, or even Di Canio's, has yet to be proffered as a remedy to our third tier woes. You’ll need to get there early. Large queues expected at the Peter Reid turnstiles.

Like the sound of this going to put a bet on it happeningHere's how the next 18 month goes !!!
Keane comes back, secures promotion to the championship, Henderson decides he's had his time at Liverpool and wants to come back and help drive the club back to the premiership, next season Henderson assists loads, Defoe scores 20 goals and then retires after achieving a final promotion and Roy Keane actually accepts the success of back to back promotions and leads an open top bus tour of Sunderland !
OkHe's not coming
Well, give me a tangible reason of why it was good.Stupid Sunderland?
Jog on sunshine.
I'm not in the Keane in camp but thats not right. He spent a lot of money yes but the majority we made our money back on (Chopra, McShane, Halford) or were mainstays in Bruce's sides (Malbranque, Jones, Ferdinand). McCartney and Gordon are the only two that really cost us financially and that was bad luck due to injuries more than anything else. In any case we generally found buyers for Keane's signing and they weren't hanging around.Bruce had to get rid of that sh*te and the result was that funds were limited. It affected us for a long time after.
