i have agree. I thought we had a blueprint, a long term strategy. We appear to have torn that up.
Maybe he's impressed kld when he's spoke to Keane? Just a thought. He's not exactly a footballing dinosaur. We've goy a lot riding on this appointment , I can't see kld appointing him on sentiment.

It goes against everything most of us said we were buying into just one year ago.
At least when he was last here he was still relevant as a name to the players we had or then bought in the transfer window. Players like Kavanagh, Connolly, Edwards, the young ManU lads. This time our players know him as the angry man off sky who hasn't done owt of note in management for over ten years. Baffling the way our support seems to fawn over certain ex players/manager's like lovestruck teenagers. Always looking to the past.
That's a cracking point mind.

As much as I love the bloke, this and Defoe feels like the sort of thing that Ashley would do in his early years at the Mags to try and placate the fanbase and look how well that went.

Can't get my head round this appointment (if it happens) like. Makes no sense to me. I'll obviously support whoever is going to be in charge but there's no sensible reasoning behind it just pure nostalgia. 🤷
Makes no sense to appoint someone who will reinvigorate most of the fans and the whole club? Someone who will have an immediate impact and momentum.

Make no mistake we are staring down the barrel of yet another season in this dreadful backwater of a league. In the last 25 years the biggest and most immediate transformation of the team was performed by Roy Keane. He took a team with no confidence and no points to Champions in 9 months.

We now need a miracle to achieve automatic promotion. If we end up in the play offs we need to buck a losing trend that started 35 years ago!

Roy Keane is the man to entrust in performing an unlikely miracle. Partly because the other obvious options are so uninspiring and frankly demoralising.

Haway Roy, set the bandwagon away!

He shagged your missus last time didn’t he?

I see your point mate. Just think we need a tactically astute manager (especially with our current players) and not a tub thumper. Keane isn't really the deep thinker, training ground type imo.

I completely agree and have all but given up keeping to a cohesive structure or plan as so much of the decisions have been sporadic.

I think if you're going to deviate, then you may as well get folk like Defoe and Keane in. Give the people a sense of pride for a while. But its not really intelligent thinking and certainly can't be scaled so... ill just enjoy it while its happening.

Surely he brings in a coach and he can take care of the tactics?

My reasoning too. The season hangs on a knife edge thanks to Johnson's inconsistency for which he's paid the price. You simply cannot have these swings in form going into the last third of the season if you want promotion whether that be automatic or play offs.
This move represents our very best chance of promotion now.
I want him sitting 12 rows in front of me on Saturday.
Are you in the back row of the east stand, mate? 🤔

I think it's what we need mate, even if it's just until the end of the season, Keane would lift the fans, the players the club, we'd all be in it together, its League 1 and he's no mug I'm sure he'd do a job with good people around him
Not just the fans, players and club.
It would lift the whole city.

Remember under Reid and last time under Keane, the whole city was buzzing.

Making the same decisions time and time again for the last 4 years hasn't worked.

Time to let the big boys run the show not the executives.

Players and managers win games. Not business decisions.

All shareholders and board members will have a say, the thing is who makes the final decision.

No, unless they're also on the board. This is not a matter for a general meeting; it's simply day to day running of the business. If the shareholders don't like it, all they can do is vote against reappointment when it comes up at an AGM.

Keane would be another disaster he got us up by spending a lot of money on a lot of players but we got no further and couldn’t unlosd them. He did nowt at Ipswich. What the hell is wrong with our supporters?
