Roy Keane

End of the day, Roy Keane is one of the players who invented and defined the modern game. Ok he doesn't like Abba in the dressing room and probably hasn't got a PS5, but so what? He'll have a lad there in the dressing room in Jermain Defoe who he just needs to point to and say look lads, this is what a footballer looks like. This is how you carve a career from the game. Let's gan out and win some games.
Its a good point. Get any squad and you'll get some players who like the gaffer, some who don't, some who are scared etc. I bet AOB didn't like Johnson. I bet Anthony Stokes didn't like Keano last time.

If I was a player and knew Roy was coming, I'd be absolutely delighted. The standards would go through the roof and you knew you would have a chance of succeeding.

Get the chance to play for a winner, in a winning team with a winning mentality.
Impress Keane and the links he still has throughout the game could invaluable for the future.

If he comes, our younguns should think of that.

Hes Lesser of many evils options imho

Think we're all realistic here ...this isn't the perfect choice but he represents a better option than many names in the frame... its risky... but I'm willing to take the risk. Question really is....is Roy Keane now a more stable version of roy whose learned enough to make him better prospect? If there is a proven better option I've not seen it yet

You'd think Keane had been forced away into a cave for 10 years or something and has forgotten what football is
Aye keep reading on here about the 'modern' game these days and young modern coaches.
F....g right load of tripe.
SFA even at 60+ managed/coached as probs the best the game has ever seen.
Haven't managed to replace him.
It's still about 11 players on the pitch or as we say these days on the grass ffs and beating the opposition.
Keano hasn't lost touch with football at all man.

Still not convinced this is actually the right move but with Sunderland what is?
I’m not either. Not by a long chalk. But for where we are in the season and in the league, f**k it, why not. Shit or bust. It’ll either be a runaway success or an absolute disaster with nowt in between. I hate mediocrity on a football pitch so bring it on.

Your clearly an idiot is that your response to everything when someone says something you don’t agree with football is game of opinions. Tell me how many times it’s worked out well for a club going back to an ex manager.
I agree that it doesn't normally work but this is quite a different situation. Effectively we have a decent squad which needs a boost going into the last 17/20 games. From that perspective there is certainly some merit in Keane. After that both sides would really need to think.
