Roy Keane

Keane wasnt here at the start of the season so what has that got to do with anything?

Keane would give us massive momentum going into the run in. We need a big character.

We bloody well need someone with a track record over many years of getting clubs promoted using a tried and tested system. Character isn’t enough in itself. I think the players will respond and respond well to Keane but he needs to know what he is doing.

Agree mate, the fans/supporters need to chill the fk out, as you said in a previous post if this doesn't come off what chance will the alternative have?
Genie's out of the bottle mate. If we hire some random League Two up and comer - the disappointment will be palpable at first, but we'll all back him when Jermaine scores a few goals and wins us the game on Saturday.

We want Roy. I love that KLD is trying to get him. But we'll move on if it doesn't come off.

Judging by the reception, the genie is arriving on his magic carpet too

On the face of it yes.
Lots of good things, however, we have the opportunity here with Keane to really achieve something. As a League one side, to have this chance again, KLD can prove his ambition. If he turns this down, we know second best is always going to be acceptable to him.
If he turns it down it will be personal reasons as in his sky stuff and the leisurely life he leads. My worry is folk think Kyril will not have done enough wheras I think he will have. Twisting Keanes arm isn't easy.

The kids today (either side) will likely be excited to play in front of a footballing legend. Not sure his intimidating stance carries through the same as it did first time round. Changed world. Opposition just as likely to play their ‘cup final’. Great stadium has been enough so far. Add in Roy Keane and JD and equal impact both ways!
We have the talent. Perhaps we just need a quite (perhaps boring) master craftsman to bring it out!

Me not know

If that player has had success at this level or higher before, then yes i would prefer them. Keane is a massive risk. If he hadn't have managed sunderland previously and had simply been out of the game for 15 years, no one would be clamouring for him. It's the equivalent of Charlton going back in for Curbishley, it's a huge gamble. I like Keane, but i'd genuinely rather someone like Neil who has achieved something recently in management.
I don't mind Alex Neil of the alternatives, but the last time he achieved anything in management we were still in the PL and Obama was still American president. His successes weren't especially recent.
