Roy Keane

I’d still prefer Rob Edwards from FGR - I think he’s going to be a fantastic coach. However, I feel like I would crawl on broken glass from here to Sunderland to be there when Roy Keane comes out of the tunnel for the first time.

Get yourself up.

If he comes it'll be one of the best atmospheres at the SOL, dare I say the best, since that night V everton under big sam.

Going to be great regardless with JD there.

There’s the “modern day football” bollocks again. As if it’s now a 15 a side game played on hoverboards.
It’s a funny thing - I disagreed with just about everything you posted about LJ, but you‘ve posted nothing but good sense about Keane.
Keep up the good work!

Is this the same Tony Loughlan who was number 2 to Sean Dyche in the premier league last season?

He had a hip replacement in July so stood down at Burnley. He'll probably be back and I'll be glad. He and Keane led us to an outstanding promotion!
Well presumably he is a lot better now having worked at a high level for decade. However, he came to us from coaching primary school aged kids, and Keane needed more experienced help at that stage.

No Alan Nixon surprised normally ITK about us usu
It’s a lot like the ‘emperor’s new clothes’ all this adulation of Keane?

People have very short and selective memories - I suppose that’s what being so shite for so long does as we all crave the slightest success?

I really hope it works out, but it’s a massive risk imo
Is every appointment not a risk?- we are not very good at appointing guaranteed success
Seems the vast majority are behind it if it happens -let’s go with it if so -get behind him and Defoe et al and see where it goes
Won’t be dull that is for sure -if you haven’t seen it watch Defoes interview that gets me excited if nothing else
Our new midfielder sounds very good as well according to supporters of his old club so lots to be positive about

Going to see how I can get there. Trains aren’t running right, last flight is too early, and the chauffeur has the day off!

Or 30 thousand booing if the team plays worse…?
No one appointed would guarantee that wouldn’t happen -unless you can name someone ?..all I know is many supporters needed a lift after Bolton -KLD has acted after some said he wouldn’t..so let’s back his judgement ( seems most are to be fair )

Pretty much my thoughts. I can’t help but feel a missed opportunity to get a good coach that can develop with us like Edwards or Manning might come back to haunt us but the chance of things going well under Keane is very alluring.

We need someone to organize our defence and instil some grit and determination. My abiding memory of Keane’s teams was that they fought to the end and snatched points at the death rather than throw them away. If he can work with the DOF and KLD and get us organized it could work.
It’ll have the stadium rocking that’s for sure.

Good point.

At its height the Roy Keane team snatched loads of iconic last minute wins and comebacks in an almost fairytale way.

The current team we have, and it's been a problem since Jack Ross, keep conceeding last minute equalisers in contrast.
