I think of the candidates mentioned he’s most likely to get us promoted. I also think he’s most likely to miss out on play offs altogether.

I’m wasn’t against Defoe coming back. It’s more of a nice to have & I think we could have prioritised other areas, including a striker that can play 90mins higher. As for Keane, fuck yes. We’ve got decent footballers, bring back the passion & motivation.

I’m not against it. I’d welcome him back and think there is a chance he would do the job at hand. But to be completely honest I’m not sure he still has what made him succeed first time around, he’s a bit like a tribute band nowerdays. And even if he was still the same man, we know his ceiling and would have to sack him and find a new manager in 3 years max anyway. I’d rather go for somebody who may have a considerably higher ceiling where we aren’t asking ourselves ‘right who is next then’.

That said I feel this post is a bit negative towards Keane, I’d support it and just keep my eyes on this season despite having doubts, he would certainly bring a fantastic feel good factor back to the club.
Yes, and we need more of the feel good factor that Defoe has brought.
Whilst we want someone in charge that will keep the players focused and healthy, bullying does not work for long.
The example set by Defoe will have more effect over time. Team him up with a modern coach.

We used to laugh at the mags over their Keegan and Shearer obsession. We are going the same over Keane and Defoe. We just lost 6-0 and it’s seems forgotten over a couple of big names.

I like Defoe but can’t stand Keane. Some of the things he’s said and done over the years are appalling. We will become Ireland reserves again and that won’t get us where we want to be.

Were you not alive during his period of success

Heart says Keane.
Head says not Keane.

When you see the names being banded around, he's as good as anybody else. As an example, I couldn't get excited about McCann, I don't see him motivating a damp cloth never mind our lot. And Warnock is 73. This job could potentially kill the poor bloke.
