And he just quoted from the team terroists play book to rub salt into the wounds -

“I had a number of offers on the table, but none matched the magnitude of this club, with European football and the chance to play in front of 50,000 fans every other week."

"we've got Aaron Ramsey, taking the piss, we've got Aaron Ramsey taking the piss-

we're the richest clerb in the world"

They have improved marginally. Trippier is definitely an improvement, Targett - average, nothing more, Wood-extremely average, Guimaraes is a gamble with a 50/50 chance of being great or shite, Burn- average. I think it will be a nerve wracking few months for them. I do not get the whole "great business" propaganda. They are still in alot of trouble for me. Given their resources they seem to have gambled on low balling this window so if they stay up they can do more in an easier window in the summer.

Honest assessment

Trippier great value
Targett good player ...nothing to lose on loan
Burn...not good enough ...championship player
Wood ....distinctly average prem player ...£25 million is shocking
Brazilian lad ...can't comment ......

But Newcastle are still deep in the shit if those are the only signings
As has been said, it will go down to the wire.

Aye, that's about the size of it .

Would be a long way beyond hilarious if the gamble goes tits up like.

Watford have signed 6 players and have actually got a goal scorer in Dennis - they’ve also got an experienced manager in to try and get him firing again.

Burnley have already got a manager who has done this before, and have upgraded their centre forward thanks to the mags.

Norwich haven’t done anything, but have just won two games in a row.

Everton have got a new manager in and have signed two new players to go in midfield. Probably more important that Calvert Lewin is back fit, has played a couple of games, and can partner Richarlison again.

The mags struggle to score goals or create, and their new signings have half a dozen goals between them all season. I honestly don’t think they’ll have done enough. Really don’t understand the euphoria of some of them, anyway.
I don't know why people haven't recognised this with Watford. They've got Sa to come back too. If they hadn't put Relic Ranieri in charge they'd be about 5/6 points clear of the Mags now.

Wood, Targett and Burn.

If Ashley and Bruce had brought those three in I think the mood would be a lot different. A lot of NUFC fans saving face after some of the names bandied about in December.

Guimarães could be a very good addition… or could easily be another Joelinton.

That said, they have undoubtedly strengthened whereas I’m not so sure the same could be said for those around them.

I think Targett is a decent signing tbf but I expected more from them. Fingers crossed they go down quicker than Katie Price

Why do people quote the money spent? They’ve got no shortage of it. They’ve overpaid, they clearly will always do that being run by this set up, but they’ve strengthened and they’ll stay up. Then come the summer they’ll clear out and spend an utter fortune.
