My favourite franchise tournmanet is underway.

Will Smeed opened things for Quetta today as a replacement for James Vince. Smashes 97 off 62 balls - just misses out on becoming the first Englishman to score a century in the league. Impressive from the 20 year old.
 

Some white ball talent about in England like

Futures certainly bright there

He’s another good example mind of a talented lad, who at 20, will focus on white ball

20 years ago his focus would have been red ball

That’s nothing to do with pitches etc!

So why can he not play 16 championship matches for Somerset this summer?
 
Quetta on the ropes with 1 win and 3 losses, and staring down a target of 204.

Up steps Jason Roy for his season debut - bashes 116 from 57 balls, and James Vince helps finish the job with 49 not out of 38. Not bad at all. Timely as well.

Roy innings about half way through. The first over is against Shaheen Shah Afridi - newly minted ICC player of the year. Knocks him all owa. Flat six at 5:45 is the pick of the shots for me.

Also - Lahore's innings is propelled by 41 not out from 17 by young Harry Brook at the end of that inning. Great hitting all around.

Standalone Roy highlights. His opening partner had faced 2 balls by the time Roy got to 50 runs. Outrageous all around.

He takes apart Rashid Khan, who is arguably the best t20 player in the world at the moment, along with Afridi, and Haris Rauf.

He is from Burley-in-Wharfedale. Went to Ilkley Grammar and then got a cricket scholarship at Sedbergh, He is from a cricketing family. I played against his father, 2 uncles and his grandfather. Good players but not very nice people.

Apparently paid it to his English account and he demanded he be paid the full lot again to his Australian account? They told him to fuck off. :lol:

Don't blame them one bit! Surely he must have supplied them with his English details?
Can he not just get the funds transferred from UK to Aus account himself? :lol:
