Today’s trouble at the match

Bolton has never been a friendly place, always had trouble with Sunderland don’t know why but this isn’t a new thing here strange to have bother with them no idea why but it always happens.

You would be surprised with the history witu Bolton bud see above this ground and their fans always always start trouble

I've been to matches there for years. I don't know why we can't seem to get the job done there.
Easy to get to for us and them. Cheap so you attract the bellends from both sides.

There was a young lad behind me - may have shaved twice in his life - who was dumb as rocks.
"Ugly Kernt" was his go to for most players, which was ironic as he wouldn't grace the front cover of GQ, but there you are.
I also had to tell him where he was as he shouted "Yorkshire kernts".
Ah well y'knar it's all the same.
I said it's not mate. Not to them. Yorkshire and Lancashire don't exactly get on that well.
I hope I helped his geographical knowledge. Everything else would take a bit more work.

Their fans seemed especially hostile to us.

Don’t get me wrong. Very easy to ignore and walk away from as me and my mates did.

But they were very interested in goading us, singing anti Sunderland songs all game (Sunderland get battered everywhere they go), seemed like we were playing Newcastle the way they were going on.

Their goalkeeper also made a point of having a go at us at the final whistle. As if 0-6 wasn’t enough, we need professional footballers seemingly giving unprovoked stick to us.

Some Sunderland fans have taken the bait and I’m not going to defend it, but I noticed more hostility than usual. Even though we had the opportunity to bury the hatchet a little at half time when Sunderland fans cheered the Bolton kids who’d been raising money for their cancer stricken mate (as we should have).

Dont know, just surprising how nasty they were and unsure why their goalkeeper was such a prick after winning 6 nowt. He was from Cockermouth so possibly a boyhood Mag?

Puffs...

The trouble in the bottom corner was all their lot throwing coins and bottles etc, we were sat right in the corner next to the netting and hardly any were returned to start with. When it was obvious the police and stewards were going to do nothing at all about it a few of our lot obviously had a case of red mist and returned some of the missiles.

i've just said to the mrs that there was bother at the game. i never saw any but apparently there was some scrapping behind us and in front of us with various people getting chucked out by the police/stewards.
i must've been in a world of my own watching the shite on the pitch as i didn't notice any of this around us. we were over to the left hand side right next to the bolton fans on the side where the players come out. it must've all just passed me by.

It was on the other side.

It was on the other side.
aye, i gather that by this thread.
i was just saying there was shenanigans where we were between our fans (which i hate to see) and it totally passed me by. i did see the police line up between us and the bolton fans next to us but i never noticed them coming into us to chuck folk out.
like i said, i was probably just engrossed watching the game and how rubbish it all was.

Sunderland fans fell for the wind up by Bolton fans massively today but fcuk me the police and stewards were horrendous. Didn’t see a single Bolton fan get lifted but saw at least 15/20 Sunderland get lifted. Spent more time watching the bottles getting thrown at the Bolton fans than I did watch the match. Pleased to see the fat ginger steward get a slap for being a prick throughout the match. Even his colleagues told him to shut up and fcuk off by the end.
Every aspect of today has been horrendous.

But Sunderland fans don’t throw bottles or flares or do that sort of thing…………….

That’s only Pompey / Morecambe etc etc fans

Must have been Bolton fans throwing bottles at themselves surely

We were in upper tier opposite side to trouble .
Bars closed due to smoke from flare so we just stopped in our seats .
Watched the ‘trouble ‘ and looked relatively tame . Bottles thrown not sure who started it. The stewards only seemed intent of grabbing away fans which if they started it then fair enough .
Left on 70 minutes as did a few Bolton fans which seemed strange considering they were thumping us - maybe they knew there was going to be more trouble after the whistle.
Loads of police outside all over which when compared to how many Safc deploy for home matches is incredible.

Not blaming just our fans but the last season or two I’ve noticed an increasing amount of annoying coked up idiots following us. If you wanna get off your face why go to a football match to do it? Annoys the hell out of me. I’m all up for having a few drinks and a bit crack just seems rediculous now the amount that get that out there face they can’t remember anything anyway.
It’s not just your club mate , it’s like that at our away games to
Seems to be a common problem
These divs throw drinks in the air and sing songs at the concourse at H/T but don’t do anything else when they are in the stands

No it hasn’t mate - people haven’t been setting off flares, throwing bottles and generally acting like dicks for years.

Having a few beers is one thing, getting coked off your face and throwing things and acting like a twat is another.

I go to the majority of aways and it’s gradually been getting worse since we’ve been in this league. What happened at Arsenal, when they had to shut all the bars by 7.15, should have been a warning for the club.

Eventually the bellend behaviour will come back and bite us, especially if the police insist on us getting a reduced allocation.

This was a ridiculous call by Bolton. They had a bottle bar, but they had to put the drinks in plastic glasses. The bottles of Carling were in plastic bottles but the cider was glass. Even when I was queuing for a drink, the lad next to me ordered 3 and when the lad behind the counter put 3 bottles on the counter and had poured 2, the lad took the 3rd bottle and walked off.
It's as much Bolton's fault for allowing that and not checking fans when they went up into the stands, and it's also the blame of the morons for chucking them in the first place.

Yes there was bother in our corner, but why do people allow themselves to get wound up by some little spenks? We'd have been giving it the biggun if we were 4-0+ up but you don't have to react.

Obviously not great call by Bolton, but surely their / our supporters should be able to control their behaviour. Shocking.
I was not there yesterday, but this season seems worse than previous seasons with a small section of our supporter base seemingly intent on causing trouble.
