Only reason any team plays 3 centre halfs is if the defenders arent good enough to play as a 2. Batth might make all the difference to him and allow us to attack more

Pritchard, Clarke and Roberts have had approximately £40m spent on them by other clubs in transfer fees. Not a bad league one bench!
It 100% was not the same formation as we played a couple of weeks ago with Gooch at RB, Cirkin at LB. Wright was always tucked in out of possession.

Obviously, but Gooch is fine in a 5, and the team looks better for it. Hope Johnson knows what he’s doing.
The Situation

RW is Gooch's best position by a significant distance IMO.
He's posting some of the best chance creation and expected assists numbers in the league from that position.

Makes so much sense. We were set up defensively last week for the first 25 minutes and it was awful. This is a mush better set up and it shows we are going for a win which we have to at this point. I am pleased with this team.

Can't for the life of me see how he gets in ahead of Pritchard, if he's fit enough for the bench get him in from the start, he and Stewart are brilliant at the high press. FTM
