Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)

Perhaps Putin has decided that now is the time, especially with a rising fuel prices on the way and he has the power to cut supplies to Europe.

Our 'intelligence' seem to think so.
You're right, they already invaded Crimea so it's already happened
The stories of Russian troop build up 'threatening' Ukraine's eastern border began immediately after and the same old assessments have been parroted out on a regular basis ever since. Nothing has come of it yet.

If the Russians invade, there are widespread fears in the international community that the British Foreign Secretary will unleash biological warfare by hurling her knickers at the invading forces.

Shocking leadership from Johnson.

You make a good point of course but I'm quite happy with Boris being as removed from this crisis as pssible. If there is any chance at all of this being one of Putin's games to test western unity I don't want BoJo to escate it.

Looks like it’s getting to crunch time for Putin. They apparently finally have all the pawns in place to invade. Not just the military equipment, but logistics, support, national guard, ships positioned etc… They are currently flying in troops which is the final piece.

A few intelligence experts reckon if he is going to do it it will be between the 20th Feb and early March.

There are a number of things either coincidentally or otherwise finishing on the 19th. Their exercises in Belarus, the Black Sea and the Winter Olympics too.

After that he has to make a decision as apparently he can’t keep 120,000 troops stationed away from bases for long and any later the ground will thaw and make it far harder to invade. Tanks are fine but apparently moving infantry, support vehicles and national guard to take and hold territory in rural East Ukraine will be a nightmare when it gets warmer and the ice turns to mud and water.

So one way or the other it should play out in the next few weeks
