Julien Laurens tweeted this just before Lyon tweeted a denial 😂

Lyon have history of denying an agreement then selling a few days later.

i imagine it's to bring in any other clubs who want to compete with newcastle/up the price.

Some foreign journo on twitter reckons the holdup is the fact that Lyon want 30m upfront whereas Newcastles offer is in installments. That will tip the mags over edge that 1. Richest club in the world 🤣
No doubt with a clause that includes when they secure the Champions League!

Could they not just murder Lyons President?

Or just buy Lyon and use their ground for the reserves?

Seriously there's two things have crossed my mind.

Either
A) there is actually a reluctance among the PL to do business with Newcastle (as was rumoured)

Or

B) the stories coming out aren't true, and are being used by Newcastle to explain why they can't get these players "over the line".

I'm starting to think they haven't got the money available that the mags think, but rather than openly admit that, its easier to claim selling clubs were unreasonable.

Option B please.

Turns out you can't be critical of Saudi ownership AND ask for payment for players instead of giving them away now.

Charlie's a bit dim, it seems (a worthy addition to the collection of journalism foundation course planks who make up the modern magedia). Man Utd aren't stopping him going - in 6 months time, when his contract is up. But because they know he'll have better options than them and their honking bridge at that point, they're trying to get him now by paying over the odds.

Man Utd will try to rinse them for all they're worth in the process, and so they should. They're a proper club who know how the game is played, not a nouveau riche footballing TOWIE charver spunking £600 on a glittery steak for their Instagram.

If they don't go down this season, they'll have too much money to fail in the next few years. Still might not be much success because they (those running the club) seem thick as fuck.
That based on them spending a massive £37m so far?

Still haven't signed a centre back which is what they need most.

The six-in-a-row finished them off.

That, plus the fact that they haven't beaten us in 9 attempts despite us being perceived as a much smaller club, still eats away at them despite how far we have fallen.

It did serious damage.
We have also been in a cup final more recently than them as well. They were having meltdowns when we got to the League Cup final in 2014.
