MotM Vs Pompey

I think given it’s a debut and knowing that without him they’re exactly the kind of side who’d have bullied our back line it had to go to Batth
I thought Gooch was very good, Dan Neil had his best for a while and Stewart worked his nuts off but we’d have conceded today without Batth. He looks exactly what we’ve been missing at the back on today’s performance.

I thought Stewart was really good in the second half.

I thought Doyle & Batth were very solid. Hoffman was excellent. Evans very composed in the middle. Dajaku's pressing really good, and Embleton looked lively.

I would say nobody was particularly standout but, in the end, we had lots of decent performances.

I'd probably go for Stewart though.
He was very shakey imo, few times my heart nearly popped out my mouth.

Evans. Class.

Mentioned him at half time to my brother who replied that he didn't know he was on the pitch. Told him to watch how easy he makes things look in the second half.

Agreed with me that he was our best player as we were walking out of the ground.

Doyle had his best game for months.....not a surprise his confidence improved playing alongside a solid, no nonsense leader.

He was awful first half. Consistently gave the ball away. He was better second half.

Baath for me aswell, encouraging debut & took control of organisation. No surprise it helped Doyle have his best game for a while 👍

Ding dong, play up Pompey, Pompey Feck Off

Good performance after a slow start. Once we started to press we took control of the game. Gets some confidence back
Thought the back line looked solid and Barth really organised the defence well and helps out both Doyle and Hoffman.
We moved the ball around better in the middle than the last couple of games but need to be more clinical still.
The press was the most pleasing thing and gave us our best opportunities and Dajaku was the main lad with that. He did well with his crossing and decision making too. Embleton linked well with him and other than set pieces played really well today.

Between Barth, Dajaku and Embo for me and young Dajaku gets the vote.

Honourables for Doyle and Evans
Doyle…fantastic today…flourished with Bath next to him.

No no ….too often his passes are negative and puts his teammates 7nder pressure. Needs to offer much more.
