NUFC Sportswashing 2022

So here’s a hypothetical, Richard Masters from the premier league allowed the NUFC takeover based on assurances that the Saudi state wasn’t involved in the running of the club. If they are relegated, does NUFC and the response and reaction to any breaking of promises become an ‘EFL matter’ in which case does the rules and agreement/threats from Premier League transfer seamlessly to EFL or can EFL effectively apply their own EFL rules and do what they like with them punishment wise?

Would laugh my c#ck off if they get relegated and championship brings in salary cap or something and suddenly all their new spending power means nothing and all big wage earners have to be sold 🤣🤣

If it really was about "Sportswashing" then I think money will speak. They can spend their money elsewhere and get better results than forking out huge salaries in the championship.
Or they could simply put their stake up for sale and cut their losses. Then its anyones guess who comes in. But given the fact Ashley couldnt sell the club when it was a stable, well run business.... they might have a hard time selling a club with players on silly money.
Or they could start asset stripping. Demanding the sales of players to recover some of the money.

its all speculation, and no one really knows what is going on. But if I was a Newcastle fan, I'd be getting very twitchy.

I genuinely believe the PL & Masters didn't want this and it was the The Eton Mess who pushed it through after a text from MBS threatening a drop in arms trade. Reuben the Mega Tory would have been in his ear too.
 
They demanded Bruce was sacked, so she did it, blowing 7m on the dismissal. But she couldn’t get a decent replacement in, so they’re now stuck with Howe.

They demanded a striker before the Watford game, so she’s gone and blown £25m on Chris f***ing Wood. Now it seems that was the whole budget!

She’s going to have to learn to ignore the daft fuckers. If you’re working on a budget for a lower midtable club then you can’t afford to take anything the lunatics say seriously. The protests and abuse are just part of running Newcastle United.

Took Ashley just over a year to work that out. Unfortunately for him, he listened to their demand to sack Allardyce and bring in Keegan. The inevitable implosion and relegation followed, and the accompanying toon army meltdown was even more ferocious than it would have been.

You just can’t afford to listen to them - disaster will inevitably follow. It seems that Staveley will have to learn that lesson the hard way as well.

Definitely and seems like Boris has seen this as a way of making the Reuben Brothers de facto Tsars for levelling up the North East using Saudi money and Reuden’s property/construction empire/contacts so government doesn’t have to pay for it.

She brokered the deal that kept Barclays out of the Government's hands after the banking crash.
Sure she borrowed from Qatar at a fairly high return. Barclays were adamant that they didn't want to be backed by the state, she kept it out of their hands and the Middle East made a pretty penny and Barclays very happy too (at the time)
This thrust her into the spotlight and she's used it to her advantage

Spot-on. I've said all along the investment part leads to them being far from the richest club in the world.
This fund was set-up in 1970 and is to make even more money when the oil runs out. They aren't going to be throwing billions of their countries wealth fund at a failing club just to get them to compete when the sportswashing has already been done by useful idiots for a fraction of that.
I've thought all along this is to get the telly rights and a foot in the door. We'll soon see if the Inter Milan deal happens what their plans are for Newcastle and it won't be to be dominaging Europe, if it does.

After the wild scenes and euphoria, on takeover day, this has been a massive disappointment for the Mags. They'll deny it but Howe, Wood and Staveley are not the stuff that dreams are made of. They're desperate to brings players in but don't seem to have any kind of strategy. It's fun to watch and will become just a little funnier if Leeds beat them, hilarious if it's 3-0 or more.
