I wouldn't stray far from that selection but would rest Root, Malan as stand in captain. Don't see much future in going back to Vince and Robson. Give Lees a chance perhaps. Probably need a 2nd spin option, Critchley perhaps and 2nd wk,Billings.
What is essential is climatisation and practise pre-test but that's probably too late for this tour.

Bairstow has had so many chances, over the years. He isn’t a top six batsmen, I’m afraid.

One good innings, every so often, won’t change that.

We have to move on, to the younger generation, plain and simple.

For example, Pope/Lawrence deserve an extended run.

I get your arguments, on Crawley, although he bats in a tougher position. Who would you’re openers be?
