Spitting in the stands

Remember the “No Spitting” signs on the buses when going to school. Seems strange now looking back. Green greasy cockles on the ridged wooden floors …. Lovely
 
Spitting is disgusting & it does spread disease (I am not just referring to Covid) and it should be banned. There were public awareness campaigns about it run by the Government when I was a kid mainly because TB was such a scourge.

With the advent of antibiotics people perhaps felt that they could get lazy about it as diseases like TB were a thing of the past but it is the case that antibiotics are now becoming ineffective against some infections. There are for example strains of TB that no longer respond to antibiotics.

People need to be educated about these things as well as washing their hands especially after using the toilet. It's the sort of thing that we all learned to do in infant school but it needs to be constantly drummed in to people or we will all pay a very high price for it.

Always wash my hands but I don’t drink out the stadium taps. What about if you have a cold and need to spit out some grem?
